  1. That sucks. I'm a lefty too and I love my A3's. For the money (about $250 on some sites) just get another set of A3's. Unless you don't mind then get the A7's since they are supposed to be loaded with new technology. You can't go wrong with either. It's been a bit chilly in New York so I haven't had the opportunity to get back out to play (i'm waiting for one of those rare 50+ degree days in NY in December, lol.) Good luck.
  2. I would go to Golf Galaxy/Dicks Sporting Goods or any of the major golf shops and go snag a set of Adams A3's for $299. They have 3 hybrids in the set that normally go for 80-120 each. I just bought them and I absolutely love them.
  3. I just bought the 2009 R7 Limited it just dropped from $399 to $199, what a driver. I never hit over 250 with my old Ping G10 but I was consistantly 25-30 yards longer with the Limited. It hits low flying ballistic missles. Check it out. I've heard great things about the Adams Speedline and Cobra S9i which both came down in price.
  4. I played a round the other day and hybrids were hitting missles dead straight. The 3H was going 200+ with a 3/4 swing. They're a little hard to hit out of tall grass or thick rough they don't cut through that well.
  5. I'm going to second that. I just bought the R7 Limited last Friday and played a round with it Sunday it is one hell of a driver. I was driving longer and straighter than ever. I hit an absolute missle (slightly low on the face) that ended up 290 yards. I've never hit over 250 with my old Ping G10. It's on sale for $199 at Golf Galaxy.
  6. I played today, still cant break 100, I've shot 105 at this course 3 times in a row now, but the biggest thing I found out is how well I can hit my 19* 3 Hybrid, I hit a shot 200 off a tee and was absolutely crushing drives wit my new R7 Limited ( I could only hit 240 max with my G10). I was hitting 260-270 on the drives depending on the wind. So I'm figuring a 70 yard gap from my 19* hybrid to the driver. I've been looking at a used 15* 2007 Burner 3 wood on ebay. I'm hoping I can snag it cheap.
  7. I have 3 Adams A3 Hybrids, 19 deg, 22 deg, and 25 deg and they are incredibly forgiving. I have played the Nike and a Callaway X as well and the Adams are by far the most forgiving. I would give them a shot, plus the A3's can be had really cheap since the A4's are out.
  8. I everyone to make a long story short I just revamped my entire bag and now have a big gap from my 10.5 driver to my 19 deg. hybrid. I was wondering what one club could be a good filler for those in between holes where I don't need my driver but need something better than a 3H. Any suggestions? I was thinking a 15 deg. wood or maybe a 13 deg. Any suggestions are much appreciated. Thanks!
  9. I had the same issue with my Ping G10 Draw. I bought it without hitting it because at the time $180 for a used one seemed like a great deal and since I'm lefty my choices were limited. It worked great to correct my slice but was a Prolaunch Red stiff shaft that really just worked against me because my swing speed isn't all that fast. (I usually am between 82-86 mph.) Everyone told me I was crazy for wanting to trade in the Ping because it supposedly the most consistent driver on the market but frankly it just didn't work for me. So I went out yesterday, after having tried a dozen drivers or so, and hit and bought a 2009 TaylorMade R7 Limited, which is the last R7 they made before the R9. It was a steal at $199 considering the Matrix Ozik 55R shaft is pretty expensive by itself. I would say don't be afraid to trade it in and get a new one, you'll lose money but it'll be worth it when your happier every time you get up to the tee. When my confidence in my driver was low it effected the rest of my game. I'm not a great golfer but I realize how much confidence in your equipment can effect your game. Good luck.
  10. I got a new driver yesterday. I picked up a brand new 2009 Taylor Made R7 Limited, 10.5 deg. with a Matrix Ozik 55g R shaft. I tried a few others but the feel of this was incredible. The shaft was awesome and the quality just felt so much better than the Diablo. Plus they just lowered the price from $399 to $199 so it was a no brainer. I only got $90 for the Ping because it was a G10 Draw not regular. I'm going to play a round tomorrow at Douglaston by me in New York so we'll see how it does on their wide fairways. I'm so excited!
  11. I just got the A3 iron set with a 3,4,5 Hybrid and 6-PW. I had played a Callaway X hybrid before which was an absolute nightmare to hit compared to the Adams. The square shape makes it extremely easy to get up in the air. I got the entire iron set for $299 on sale. So considering that most of these hybrids go for $80-110 retail that was a heck of a deal. They are a little tough to hit out of deep deep rough though. I would pick up a used one (they are dirt cheap at golf galaxy) and try them out.
  12. I have a G10 Draw driver and although it helped a lot when I first gt it a year ago, I have grown out of it and it actually works against me now. The Grafalloy Prolaunch Red S Shaft is ok but I can't get any roll, it goes a mile up in the air and just dies when it drops. I've demoed other driver and get 15-25 more yards easily. It's also rather big and bulky, my swing speed is down compared to other drivers. I'm getting ready to trade it in. To their credit they hold there value compared to other drivers, I'm going to snag around $120 for it @ Golf Galaxy. I won't be buying another Ping product again (even though that crescent moon is pretty sweet to line up) but I would say just try it and check it out for yourself, as a forum is really just made up of opinions. Good luck.
  13. Hey everyone I have finally graduted college, started a career and treated myself to new irons and a putter. I picked up a brand new set of Adams A3's 3,4,5 hybrid & 6-PW for $299 at Golf Galaxy, what a deal. I know everyone will cry foul and say that the OS would have been a better choice, I just didnt feel comfortable with the hybrid iron heavy set, the regular A3's had a more traditional feeling 6-8 iron, which I liked. For my putter I gave up my $15 Sports Authority special for a great new 2009 Odyssey XG Teron. This putter is lights out from from short distances and the control beyond that is excellent. I almost bought a Titleist Scotty Cameron X but opted against it because it didnt feel like it putted as true as the Odyssey. Plus the sightlines on the Teron are amazing, so easy to line up. Now comes my new issue, I've been playing with my 10.5 degree Ping G10 Draw model for about a year now and I helped correct my slice early on but as I started to get used to it and swing better I realized it was getting straighter and straighter but now its becoming a full blown hook. Has the Draw model finally started working against me? I've been trying a bunch of different neutral models @ Golf Galaxy and I'm hitting them straight or with slight fade. Is it time? The trade in is only $110. I was thinking Callaway Diablo so I can snag that $1 3 wood. Any advice? Thanks.
  14. Yea the Adams are something I've considered hit and considered since A3OS are $399 pretty much everywhere right now (Rockbottom golf has A2OS for $299 i think but I dont think they have any more lefties.) I took the first smart step and decided to demo the SZ and the SUMO. I have each in a 6 iron in my car right now and im going to the PGA National course in Port St Lucie, FL this weekend to try them out (Im at school in West Palm Beach but go to PSL on the weekends and stay and play golf with my cousins) Side note, this place is amazing if your ever in FL try to make a trip there it has the PGA hall of fame, they have the Ryder Cup on display there right now, and they have an unbelievable chipping/putting area with 3 greens and 7 different types of bunkers.
  15. The only problem is that very few golf shops carry lefty clubs for demos. I always get "oh I need a week at least to get them from my rep." Which sucks because I end up having to wait 3 weeks or so to try each club. The Sumo is the softest feeling, the Cobra i think is the best balance of everything I want, and I havent had a chance to play with the Clevelands. I was looking at Cleveland CG Golds for $299 or Adams A30S for $399 as well. The Nike's are $399, the Cobras are $499, and the Clevelands are $599 but come with Hybrids.
  16. Hey everyone, I've been playingfor about a year now and im sick and tired of my crappy Confidence golf Callaway knockoff irons. When I hit them they make a hollow "clack" sound. I havent broken 100 yet (but I did make my first birdie the other day! Par 3, 145 Yards, 8-iron put it 6 inches from the pin after a 5 foot roll.) I'm pretty sure I'm a 30+ handicap i usually shoot between 115-125 (which is horrible I know but im working on it.) I have narrowed my choices down to the following 3 iron sets but I need your opinion. 1. Cobra SZ - 4-AW 2. Cleveland Launcher - 3,4,5 Hyb, 6-PW 3. Nike Sumo - 4-AW Please let me know on here or email me at JDonaggio@gmail.com THANKS! -Joe
  17. 1)New irons (Mizuno MX-19's) 2New putter - Odyssey XG #7 3)Wedges (havent decided yet)
  18. Thanks for your input. I thought about trying to get the Regular flex shafts. I have regular flex graphites right now and i hate them but im assuming regular flex steel is different in so many ways. I'll go to Edwin Watts or Golf Galaxy and check my swing speed and get back to you.
  19. I appreciate the info guys. I've been seeing brand new sets of the MX-19's going on ebay for around $150-170 brand new for leftys! So I think I'm going to go with these. Now the shafts available from Proshop Warehouse's eBay page are Dynalite Gold SL S300. Any thoughts on these?
  20. Going to baseball games(Go Mets!), guns, cars, fantasy baseball, cars, fishing, cars, video games, and more cars.
  21. I've heard a lot of great things about Mizuno. I demoed a set of Adams A30S yesterday at Edwin Watts (but they wanted $400) and I like them a lot. I'm so confused! They also had a set of Adams RPM on sales for $199.
  22. I've found a lot of Callaway X-14 (used) and Mizuno MX-19 (new) on ebay. How about these?
  23. A local golf shop by my parents house in New York offered me the Nike Slinghot 4D's for $250 only the 5 and 9 irons had been demoed. Any thoughts on these?
  24. Anyone? Bueller...Bueller? I am looking for advice on which sets that are a bit older, but still affordable and good for someone whos slightly more than a beginner. Any suggestions?
  25. I use a ton of different golf balls (i use recycled mostly) but my favorite to mark is the MC balls because I write Nasty after the MC. It's the evil Irish golf ball! MCNasty. OR I put a smiley face with it's tongue sticking out that has my initials abve it "JD" Then again I'm a goof ball.
