  1. Yea i still have not decided...i really would like to hear from someone that still plays the G10s...is it worth going back a couple years for..i mean would i notice a difference in the Nike VRs to the Pings? i dont have to have the latest and greatest, i just want to get a swing down and stick to it and maybe in a few years upgrade to something nicer but was thinking the G10s may give me a little more ball striking confidence.
  2. Would you be interested in trading the Pings for a set of Nike VR Pro Cavities in excellent shape (can send photos)...3-pw stiff and i can throw in a Taylor Made RBZ 4 hybrid
  3. Would you be interested in trading for a set of Nike PRo Cavity irons..stiff 3-pw...would even throw in a TM RBZ 4 hybrid.
  4. yea i guess i could wait and play mine a little longer until something better comes along or i can sell mine towards a newer set...i dont hate the Nikes i just feel like i have gotten a little better and i see people playing other irons that i feel like could help me a little more. And from what i have read the G series (G10 or G15 more than likely with my budget) and the AP1 710s seem to be very good sets and will be a little more forgiving on the mishits than my VR Pro Cavities
  5. So of the G10 and AP1 710s which one would be the better upgrade from the Nike VRs...i know going to the G10 is a few years backwards but i am not talking about that, by upgrading i mean a more forgiving club that would last a while.
  6. Yea I saw where the maltby factor was very high on the 710s if that means anything but it was higher
  7. That's what I thought ...what about the Titleist ap1 710s? Are those pretty forgiving ...
  8. Guys so I am playing the Nike vr pro cavities and this is my first year really into it on a reg basis...I have taken alot of strokes of with just hitting at the range, from around 100 to consistently around 85 or 87 and I really have the urge to try a different iron. I have a fella willing to to trade my Pro Cavities for a set of good looking Ping G 10 irons..woukd I notice a difference I know I am going back a couple years but just read great things and I like the VRS but the his hits seem harsh and the distances just seem to be very erratic sometimes ..any help on the pings would be great thanks!
  9. Thanks! Yea I mean I guess Nike would be the coolest brand but I don't care about that as long as I am confident in my irons....I think I am going to try to sale or trade my Pro Cavities and get the G15s... everything I read seems to be pointing to that being one of the best GI irons made even with the newer stuff...may even throw some cash and go after some G20s but not sure there was much difference in them from what I have read...if I'm not happy I can always sell the Pings and go back to the nikes
  10. anyone hit the G15s or G20s for a comparison on the Nikes?
  11. Also just throwing this out there that i think it kind of weird...i lost my 7 iron at a range one weekend so i went on Ebay and found a heck of a deal on a brand new Nike VR 7 iron but it was the VR forged not pro cavity...they look very similar but for some reason i hit that iron way better than the cavities...isnt that backwards??
  12. Thanks for the reply! Yea i mean i want to get into it but i also have alot of other things going on so realistically i cannot afford to really go to the range but a couple times a week, and have been playing about a round a week. I am very happy with the progress but just heard ALOT of good things about the Ping G15/G20 irons and just feel like i should give them a try. I got a heck of a deal on my Nike VR cavities and i like them alot they are in great shape, just from what i read and gather they may not be anything near the Pings or even the X series from Callaway. Just curious if anyone had experience with both. I actually am going this week to hit with a former pro and like i said i am consistently around 87-88 having never gotten pointers frmo people that know what they are talking about...honestly i thought about investing in a net and mat for the back yard just to be able to swing every day. I feel like that is where my game struggles just being so inconsistent...i can shoot an 83 and be in a groove then go out and the same exact shots i hit the day before chunk or blade and my swing feels completely different and end up with a 95. And my favorite would prob be D Johnson or Rory which is why i decided to be decked out in Nike HAHAH but in all seriousness i was just curious if the G series would be that much better than the Nike VR Pro Cavities i have. The "mishits" just seem to be ALOT worse than what i have read for the G series from Ping...
  13. Hey guys, new to the forum and just wanted to see if i could get some advice. I have played golf probably about 10 times my entire life (age 28) before this year and decided to pick it up and try to have fun with it. I shot a couple 100s the first couple times out and spent some time on the range and kept playing and my last 4 rounds have all been under 90 with an 83 thrown in there last weekend. I am currently hitting the NIKE PRO Cavity irons and was thinking about switching to something like the Ping G15 or G20s or been seeing good things about the Mizuno JPX800s also...i like my irons but it seems the misses are felt and i know i dont have a great swing yet, it feels different everytime i play but was thinking that maybe those G15 or G20s would be a little better club for me... Thanks!
