  1. He was pretty sarcastic. It was funny though. Sucks for the rules officials who has to basically try and tell him that he's right, but it doesn't matter because they don't look at it that way. "Sooo they burrow in the ground, but we're not going to consider them burrowing animals? I guess we'll say they're tunneling animals then." Something like that. Golf has some dumb interpretations.
  2. Where did I say society should praise him? Watch a prick like RIchard Sherman make a sport that has 52 players on a roster make it all about himself. Then watch Spieth play a game that is an individual sport and go out of his way to credit his caddie and make it about the two of them. It's not that difficult to see the difference between how they were brought up. It's always good to know there's guys like you out there who can't handle it though. Just know that says a lot more about you than it does him.
  3. It's called humility. It's so rare in this "it's all about me" showboating society that when people truly are humble others have a hard time understanding it. The people who say he's fake have absolutely no basis for their statements. They're just not used to seeing someone who is so good, with so much talent, actually act the right way. The anti Richard Sherman, and IMO, exactly what I wish every athlete/person were like. He stands out for all the right reasons. To think he's only 22. Kid is incredible.
  4. Spieth and Rory have been okay, but at some point they've got to start making some birdies. Zach got off to a great start. If only he wasn't +3 at the start of the day.
  5. I think Dustin has already put it together a bunch of times. Then he chokes. He's going to have to get all the way through a 72nd hole before people will believe in him doing it.
  6. Tiger is just not very good. It's odd to me that people still defend him at this point. What should we even consider mattering anymore? Tiger has set such a high standard. Being relevant on Sunday? At this point I'd just like to see him make a cut.
  7. As bad as the tee shot was, that second shot was impressive.
  8. Well the good vibes lasted all of one shot for Tiger. Pretty much how it goes for him these days.
  9. I'm not a Tiger supporter or hater, but I think saying that Tiger is playing decent because it's compared to his trainwrecks recently is a little much. That's not really saying much. He finally hit a great shot on 16 to set up a birdie attempt. If he can do that more often and avoid the shots that make you wonder if he's an amateur or a pro, he might have a chance to at least be relevant.
  10. The putting would be tolerable if he were ever anywhere near the hole when he got on the green. Adding together the terrible putting and extremely long distances he's had and it's no surprise he's struggled. Tiger really needs to focus on making the best approach shot he can. At least it would give him a solid chance at avoiding bogeys in those cases. If it hits one good it will set him up for reasonable birdie putts. Right now the goal should be to find a way to get under par and stay there. Little victories at this point and something to get some confidence. When you look at his face he just looks like somebody who doesn't know why things aren't working.
  11. Tiger looks like me when I play. No where near close enough on the approach. Extremely long birdie putt, misjudge pretty badly, then staring at a lengthy par and wondering how you got there. Although, in my case birdie/par is replaced with par/bogey.
  12. Thanks for your help. Do they always flip flop the morning/afternoon groups from Thursday to Friday?
  13. I'm fairly new to watching golf tournaments. I see that today's coverage starts at 2 p.m EST. Does that mean there's no way to see the morning groups today? I can't see them going back and showing Tiger on the course when he teed off at 9:15 and they didn't come on air until 2.
  14. I shot a 44 on a Par 29 nine hole course. It was only the fourth or fifth time I've ever played golf. I had two rounds before this one where I shot 43 but they were completely different. This nine hole course is 1500 yards. Only two Par 4s. It is so short. The first few rounds I played it wasn't a problem because I didn't have any ability to get any distance with my irons. I could hit my PW or my 7 iron (anything below that was impossible) and they would both go about 80-100 yards. When I first played I would hit a 4 hybrid off the Par 4s and a 9I or PW off the Par 3s and I was always short and it left me with a reasonable chip on and putt. Now that I am using my lower half more and able to get some separation between my clubs I was over hitting virtually every green today. I also have lost all ability to chip onto the green successfully. The first few times I ever played I was chipping within five feet of the cup and now I chip over to the other side. What I don't understand is the course rating of 43....I have searched the forums and the internet and looked up a bunch of different things on course/slope rating but I can not find how it is handled in regards to a nine hole course. This course is a Par 29 but the rating is a 43. From everything I've read the rating is what a scratch golfer would shoot so I'm assuming that means that it's out of 18 holes? I know that considering the course I'm playing this is all pretty irrelevant but I would like to have an understand of it at least. Par 29 would mean 58 over 18 holes but the rating being 43 means that a scratch should be playing roughly 15 under par?
