  1. Having only played 2 rounds with the new clubs, I will be spending a lot more time at the range before I make any final decisions. However, I'm pretty sure I'm hitting down on the ball and not flipping. It's a good point though, and I will check it again.
  2. Yeah, I think that's the way to go as well. However I now need to get involved with trying to sell 4 clubs on E-Bay. Do you think having high launch shafts in the 200s 3 - 6 , and low launch shafts in the 7 - PW 52s will present any kind of a problem?
  3. I have lost 20 yards easy, and if it's windy the ball will be all over the place. You can just see the ball launch straight up. I was playing Taylormade Firesoles from 2001 before I switched to the Mizunos, I hit my PW around 125 - 130 yards and I know what the ball flight was like. This isn't anywhere close. I agree that high isn't necessarily bad, but this is TO high. I was paired with someone who commented "I think that's the highest I've ever seen anyone hit a PW".
  4. I ordered a set of Mizuno MX 200s, I was fitted for these clubs and ordered the Dynalite XP S300 stiff (high launch shaft). The launch angle on 3 - 7 is perfect, but I am hitting planes out of the sky with the 8, 9 and PW. The ball just hangs in the air forever. I tried playing the ball a little further back in my stance and that didn't help. I think my SS was 86 mph when I was fitted (keep in mind that I was fitted with a 6 iron only). So long story short. What do I do? Should I reshaft just the 8, 9, and PW with a low launch shaft (Dynamic gold). Do you think this will bring the ball flight down. If not, I am going to have to sell these high irons and replace them with MP 52s. ANy suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks
  5. Thanks for all the feeback guys. I guess I should have been clearer in my statement. Don't get me wrong, I don't hate these irons, and based on the comments I guess they're really not that old. I guess I just figured that technology changes so rapidly, and I might be missing out on something by using 8 year old equipment. Just curious, has anyone every played these irons?
  6. Hey guys, I just joined the site because I need some advice with a new purchase. This a great site by the way and I'll definitely be spending a lot of time on it. Anyway, I'm playing Taylormade Firesole irons, stiff shaft from 2001. I live in NYC and haven't had a chance to play nearly as much golf as I would like. However I think that will change this year. I shoot in the low 90s, but as someone pointed out in another post, (which was very good advice) I shouldn't let my score dictate my ball striking. I have a horrible short game and I lose a ton of strokes there. I hit my irons pretty well though and I’m pretty long and straight off the tee. I was wondering how you would classify the irons I'm playing now (Game improvement or middle of the road), and do you think I'm justified in upgrading? If so, any recommendations on which irons would be a good fit? Thanks for your help.
  7. That's difficult to say, but I would say tiger based the outside factors 1. Tigers conditioning and physical strength 2. Golf Technology available today
  8. I'm an Account Manager for an IT company
