  1. Been doing these for many years in Orlando. The entry fee covers green fees, cart, range balls, lunch and drink, trophies, and prize pool. The number of payouts per flight and prize amount depend on the number of players in the flight. There's a section in the handbook that specifically spells this out, but a good example would be if there are 3 players in the flight, one place would get paid out for around $75, and if there were 20 people in the flight, 5 places would get paid out ranging from $25 to $250. All gift cards, and first place gets a trophy.
  2. These are all great ideas. I see a couple of things the are a big factor in pace. One is the foursome of beginners. These are the younger guys just out maybe for their first time with no knowledge or care for pace of play. Second is that people either play the wrong tees, or the course has the tees set up too long. Most average players should play at 6,000 yards or less. Third is ready golf. Too many times I see both carts waiting behind person who is hitting, then both carts move to the next person in line, and so on. And most times at least one in the group didn't get close to the green, so both carts are again waiting for the third shot instead of the other one proceeding to the green. Unless you're right in front of the guy hitting you should be at your ball or at least off to the side of your ball ready to hit. It only takes one group, or one person in a group to get everything backed up. I wish there was a solution.
  3. I play tournament golf about every other week, and besides that most of the time I play alone. I'll either go out after work for 9, or try to go out early on the weekend. On the early morning weekends, some courses seem to have issues being a single, even if I do have a tee time. Recently I called the evening before and booked the earliest tee time knowing I could get done early because I had plans. When I get there, they guy at the pro shop said he would have to pair me up with the threesome behind me. So now my 2.5 hour round turned into 4.5 hours. Lucky for me they brought a fourth and I was able to get out.
