If you keep an eye out, you can get some great deals on the Adams a4 hybrids on eBay. I payed $25 for each of mine. As for the clubs, I love my hybrids to death. The 4h is probably my favorite club.

I'm basing it on physics...what are you basing it on? People hit their 3 wood farther because they make better contact? Given the same quality of contact the driver will go farther, otherwise a 3 wood be used as a driver... I'm getting the idea that hitting the ball at an optimal angle in the real world goes the farthest...a good ball flight. i don't know where you're getting the idea that a good ball flight is as high as you can hit it. Again, I didn't say 8.5 would be his optimal clubhead but it could be.

No, I'm saying that he should use whatever club gives him the best results, 8.5 or 11.5 clubhead, regular or stiff shaft, standard or midsize grip, or any other changes you can make. I think that switching from 8.5 to 11.5 is a big switch and will affect more things than just launch angle. I would never make that dramatic of a change in loft for clubs trying to serve the same purpose without having at least tried a few in the new loft. That being said, if he has trouble because he hits it too high, he should probably experiment with different lofts or shafts.

Except that you said that 45* would go the farthest and that 30* would go farther than 60* which is only true with distance after carry...rather adamently... The 8.5 or 11.5 on the clubhead isn't the issue. It's using equipment that fits your swing and gives you good launch angle and spin numbers.

I'm sorry, what math problem are you doing? Yes, using simple parabolic motion 45* will result in the longest carry but it doesn't come close to encompassing all necessary variables. (I think it's kinematics vs analytical dynamics?) Furthermore, I'm pretty sure you meant that 30* will carry as far as the 60* with substantially less hangtime.

What makes it a wedge shaft vs a non-wedge shaft? Is there a reason you couldn't put these in other clubs? Also, where does the "Wedge" flex fit into the scheme of the TTDG, stiffer than S300?

+1 I hate when people ask a question, get an answer supported by research or an answer from an expert, and then totally disregard the answer based on anecdotal evidence. In general, research doesn't lie and experts are experts for a reason. The Pro can do whatever he wants, but the reality is he's not helping his course. The fact that he's been doing it for 50 years just gives me the impression that he formed his opinions before research was done and doesn't like change.

I'm currently using the Adams a4 3 and 4 hybrid. The a4 series from Adams have no offset, which I like a lot. I had picked up an a7os to try out and it was just hook city, way way too much offset. I got rid of that and picked up the a4 3 hybrid because I had the a4 4 and loved it. The best part is that you can get the a4 hybrids pretty darn cheap on eBay too!

On Trump's show, I think Jerry said he played to a 2 handicap? Either way, his swing is hideous and there are plenty of +-.-- handicap players out there that can't make it on the Nationwide.

I'm definitely with shanks on this one. If you've got a club for a certain distance and you want to his it that far on the couse you pull that club. Is it going to work out perfectly everytime? Obviously not. However, as you get better it'll workout more often and you won't be second guessing yourself. You'll never get better until you make yourself make the shots. Don't play the shank play the pure.

I'm looking at buying a new driver shaft and was looking at the Proforce V2 Tour and the NV Protopype. Does anyone have experience with these shafts? Mainly, how do the two compare as far as launch and spin?

Why don't more teachers to the pros give Master Classes? Or better yet, why don't they do dual Master Classes with the pro just there to hit shots and talk about feel (and be the big name draw) and the coach actually talk through mechanics and drills?
