To put it in basketball terms (I know, analogy doesn't prove anything), Tiger = MJ. Phil = Reign Man, Barkley, Mail Man, etc. Some have won MVPs during MJ's era, enough to threaten and come close in the finals, but overall, no one could top MJ when he was at the top of his game. Wizards era excluded naturally. I'm also excluding Bird, Isaiah, Magic, Kobe since their careers overlapped a little but not during the same time to make a real comparison.

As you can see in my profile, I'm a beginner. I really began last year and went to golf camp last summer. Only played a handful of courses. Needless to say, I am itching to improve, so I'm looking for a reasonably close courses.

I think the default subscription options only apply on a going forward basis. Try unsubscribing from all of your previous threads by using my explanation above.

Firefox mostly. My Powerbook died recently so haven't been able to use Safari. But I was using Firefox on the Mac as well.

Go to "User CP" on the top left, and click on "List Subscriptons" under "Subscribed Threads." You will be able to see all your "subscribed" threads. Select all (by clicking the top box -- that will select all threads) and choose unsubscribe in the dropdown box below. Also, in the future, if you don't want notification that someone posted something to a thread that you posted, select "Go Advanced" BEFORE clicking "Post Quick Reply" where you will have an option in the "Thread Subscription" drop down list. You can choose "No email notification" or "Do not subscribe." I may have confused you even more, but hope this helps.

Thanks. I'm in Hudson County - and looking for a nearby course. I am beginning to think that Bergen County courses are my best bet.

I don't have a recommendation for either Adams or Wilson, but just a general advice about getting into that "I can spend just a little more to get XYZ instead of ABC" mindset. Yes, the Cobra is "only" about $130 more than what you had in mind, but you can quickly extend that logic to justify spending $400, then all of a sudden you just doubled your budget. Then again, there must be a minimum dollar range you need to be in for a very good set of clubs that will last you a few years. Whether that is $300 and not $200, I'll leave up to much better golfers in this forum.
