  1. Thanks guys! I was trying to bid on a new Cobra DWS 1/R, but it was stiff. It ended up selling for $61 on ebay. It was going for 35 when i setup the post..
  2. Was this hybrid a Cobra DWS 2/R by any chance??? If so how long were you hitting, and how long is your regular drive, for comparison purposes. Thanks!
  3. Confused No you are right...I would exchange the LW depending on plying conditions. I have: TM Burner 10.5* Driver (1) Wilson 3h 17* (1 = 2) Titleist AP1 4-GW (+8 = 10) Titleist SW SM56-10 (+1 = 11) Titleist LW SM60-04 (+1 = 12) /emoticons/d3_drool.gif" title="Drool"/>
  4. Hi all, I have an opportuinity to get a pretty good price on a new Cobra DWS hybrid, but is stiff, which does not fit me. I was wondering how much would it cost to take it say to Golf galaxy or golfsmith to change the shaft??? Your input, as always is appreciated!
  5. Mad Max are you into Operational Excellence or into Lean Manufacturing / Six-Sigma??? You sound very familiar with the "waste reduction" LOL!!!
  6. Hey Awsi, what course do you play in Miami??? I live in the Ft. Lauderdale area. I have been playing the broward courses lately...Woodmont Pines, and Inverrary West, this one in particullar is great....I loved it!!!! Cheers!
  7. LOL!!! I'm in hysterics here....I couldn’t have said it better.... Natural, it seems to me to need a vacation from golf. I think you've forgotten how to enjoy it. Either that or build and manage your own personal, and private course, just for you! Lighten up buddy, life is to short to whine so much about a hobby/game/passion.
  8. You are right....but in my bag I have: PW - 45* (AP1) GW - 50* (AP1) SW - SM56*-10* LW - SM60&-04* and a Zevo 60*-(08 or 10) So I have my scoring clubs all sorted out. My issue is trying to close up on long par 5 and 4's. My Driving gets me from 250/260 consistently upto 280. The best I can do with my wilson 3h is about 200 consistently....I don't have anything to fit the 210 - 230 range. I may go for a 1/R Cobra DWS Baffler....I hit a 2/R and abosultely loved it. We'll see.... PS ~ My blackberry froze on the middle of placing my bid for the 906F4 3w....ARGGGG! Had to get it off my chest!
  9. [QUOTE=Island Par;273164]IMHO the F60 is the most under rated FW around....QUOTE] I almost tested an f-50, got to the tee, I setup the ball, went to hit...and Lefty! Damn you lefties JK
  10. Ok, so I went to the pro shop today... I tried the following: 909 F2 15.5* - Stiff Loved it...I kept slicing, but I attributed that to the stiff shaft....very nice, and extremly nice to hit from the deck, I was surprised, and Impressed. Rapture 14* - Regular I like it too....I could launch it very well from the tee, but not as great from the deck. '09 Burner 15* - Regular I had the hardest time to hei this stick, from the deck and the tee....Yikes!!!! Boby Jones 15* - Regular Did not like it much.....hit of the tee great.....My best distnace even, but could not hit off the deck...It could have been me....I'll have to try it again. I also tried a new ft9 15* - Regular Could not hit it for the life of me ... I did try to hit after hitting about 80 balls or so.... The nice thing that I found out is that my swing speed in consistently between 75 and 88 mph...some variation due to club weight maybe, but must likely, amature indian! Tha ball speed was constanly over 100, upto 118, and avg 111 mph. I learned how to use the analysis system at Golfsmith rather quickly. Great staff, very helpful, even knowing that my intention was to shop arround. I must say I almost bought a used DWS 2/R 18*...Very nice. I could not find a short tee to test with analytical system, but of the deck.....man I was launching this esty to hit, and what seemed to be straight shots, down the middle. I will have to consider the 1/R 18* closely now.... Decisions.....Decisions..... I will continue to research my best option. Thanks all for you intup, and as always your thought are appreciated.
  11. Can I piggie back this post and add the TM Burner 3w and the Adams RPM 3w to this question? What are your thoughts on these? I am also considering the F-60 Mizuno, but I see some, not so favorable, reviews here.... Thanks for the "allowable" intrusion.
  12. Ok...so I have done some research...this is what I am thinking I have read about a few woods...I'm between a 3w and a 4w. My new dilema is TM burners do not come in 4w, only 3w. I've read some reviews on the Mizuno F-60 FW, and it seems preety darn interesting. Specially the 4w @ 16.5*. But I am a TM fanatic. I have tried the TM Burner ('08) 3w, and got some not so great results.....about 180 - 200 yrds, without loosening up, and a stiff back. Pretty straight down...maybe 10 -15 yrds off center. Price point is about $30 difference, with the TM being more expensive. Any thoughts?????
  13. All thanks for your thoughts!!! I really appreciate it! Most of the courses that I have played are in the 6800/6900 range, and I think one was upto 7100 from the back tees. I will look into a couple of wood options. The thing that has me all confused, is the loft of my 3h, it's a Wilson Pro Staff with 17* of loft, and 40.25"of legth (Regular shaft). I guess the difference would be in nearly 2"more that a 3 wood may have, not to mention the extra weight.... ok confusion is taking over.....what if equally long 2h (to 3w) with 18*.....who would that compare?? Again thanks for the feedback!!!
  14. Ok So from my sig, you can see that I carry no fairway woods. I have a dilema....I was wondering how people are setup? I was recommended to stay away from 3 woods, as they are hard to hit off the grass, and that I should consider low lofted hybrids. I was looking at Cobra Ballefs DWS or TWS, as it seems that they are pretty good. But in talking to a golf pro, he suggested to go for the 3 wood. The first pro's apprach was "how many times have you had to use the 3-wood and not had i't?" to which I said not many..nor do I have had the need to reach for a 2-h or something l ike this. I hit my driver about 260, and my 3-h about 190-210. I have choked up or softened up my swing with the driver to reach 220 -225 sitations. so the question is, should i consider a 3 or 5 wood, or a high lofted hybryd?
  15. Ok....I'm kind of on the same boat....I was able to get pretty good clubs to start (Burner driver and Titleist AP1 irons) in Jan-09 Since then I have bought a Vokey SM56-10, and TM Daytona cbg 1 putter, and was thinking about closing another gap in my bag by getting a 3 wood or 5 wood. But I decided to take classes instead, land learn how to swing better, before you get into hard to shake “bad habits”. I know that I have improved tremendously from just one class. I still have 3 more classes lined up, and will go for a fitting afterwards. So my suggestion to you is to get some classes, at least 3, 30 minute lessons under your belt to hone on mechanics and fundamentals. After that, go analyze your swing and get fitted. This will tell you which clubs match your playing ability better, and should also guide you as to which ball type to use. A friend of mine told me many times… “it’s not the arrow, it’s the Indian that matters!” My two cents....
  16. Ok.....as a a complete new guy to golfing, I do have an issue with this. To the point of being frustrating at times...I have been playing only since mid January......and I have been out 3 times....my first time was a 6.5 hour run, albeit no one around...we only let 2 groups by.... Ok so here is the question...how do I signla some one through....and what guarantee's that the folks behind me are not as slow or slower than me? I have palyed with golfers who paly in the 90's yet play slower than me ...but refused to pick up the pace. Some holes are quicker than others in nature. Ok so what I'm trying to say is...when is a little waiting too much? How do you know and how do signal through? I would alos say that be a little patient with the new guys...I'm sure you were are the same place at some poitn in your game.
