  1. they are really good wedges... i love them... only draw back is that they will chew up your balls, worse on the softer balls... something to consider...

I'm a high handicap myself and my swing is just about average but its kind of jerky. I was once told that the way you load the shaft affects what stiffness you need. I have no idea if this is true at all but it seems to hold true for me. I also you stiff flex in all my clubs and i think they are right for me regardless of swing speed.
  3. it all depends on what you have to spend... if you can afford to buy clubs this year and then grow out of them in a year or two and get new ones then yea i'd be all for it... i'm just saying i think you'll be ready for something different very quickly...
  4. just wanted to let you know from experience... i started with super game improvment irons (wide sole) and they helped me break 100 in my first season playing, but they didn't give me much room for improvment, half way through this season (my second) i switched to the nike pro combos and i hit them much longer and much straighter. i said that to say this don't fall into the hype of super game improvment irons i honestly believe they're designed to make you buy another set in a year or two once you make out there potential. get a nice cavity back that you can play for quite a long time till your handicap lowers considerably. just my two cents.
  5. Yea i guess i should have asked the question a little better. What driver to you guys believe is the most forgiving? The only problem is i already bought the monster (impulse, with some research) so i was curious if i need to send it back when it gets here or if it will be a good option for me.
  6. +1 on the hybrid... most of the name brands (or the ones i have tried anyway) are just stupid easy to hit
  7. If so how forgiving are we talking? Turns out my driver is a fake (no wonder i can't hit it very well). Thinking about investing in the Cleveland and getting a free fairway while i'm at it.
  8. They are most likely a nike but i just looked at some old mojo's i have in the closet and they all have the swoosh
  9. Thanks for all the answers. I played a quick nine today with a set of pro combos i borrowed from a friend of a friend and i see what you mean about them not helping a lot. But i did shot 40 on the front nine of my local course. Like one of you said though this could be kind of a beginners luck type deal but i think i'm gonna make the switch. Thanks for all the opinions
  10. Still somewhat unsure but thanks for the opinions.
  11. I just wanted opinions, but i didn't get really any good answers, and i didn't say NEW irons because i don't want to buy new ones, i'm wanting different ones than what i've got but dont know if i should spend the money. I was hoping for the opinion of someone who's been there really... thanks for your reply though
  12. You may want to check at your local wal-mart for the HP2's. Mine has them i assume on close-out for $20 a dozen which is a pretty good price for that particular ball. golfballs101.com has some older ratings of balls but not much new stuff. Forums are the best place to read up on balls look for somebody that seems around your skill level and pay special attention to their reviews of balls.
  13. most likely because its an older ball... i like those balls too though...
  14. I've thought about this too.. The thing is i have a buddy who is just starting golf and wants club so i can sell my current irons for 150 and get a set of pro combos in pretty good shape off ebay for around 250 which would mean i only have 100 dollars in new irons.
  15. I'm not talking blades. Nike Pro Combos, only have blades in the scoring clubs (PW-8) or something like that. Then they go to cavity back as you continue to go up. I play once or twice a week and wouldn't mind being better but thats not the over all goal here. I really believe my clubs are holding me back a bit, it's hard to believe i know but if you've ever played Super GI irons then i'm sure you'd know the feeling.
