I dont think you could go wrong with Taylor Made Tour Burners. Now that they have been replaced by the new Burners you can find them on sale everywhere. Used at about $250. Most forgiving, solid club I've ever played. Good Luck

Hey, Not a Stick, I remember that quote. I still laugh when I think about it. I remember better, way better.

I haven't been able to figure out why the fist pump bothers Derek soo much. Blairs fist pump had nothing to do with making a four footer. It was about going 1 up. Did she play a smart round? Hell no but let her play her own game and a fist pump isn't an in your face. It's simply a show of emotion. Grow up Derek and play your own game. What the hell are you going to say about Tiger fist pumping if you EVER get to that level? He made me mad so I lost? I mean REALLY!

O.K. Rad You may be right. I'll assume that the outcome isn't a foregone conclusion and enjoy the show. You guys might consider openning you own detective agency the way that you sniff out all these clues!

Well gang, not long until we find out for sure but reading your posts with all the research you've done makes it look like Derek has already won. Kinda takes all the fun out of it. I agree that Eugene had the strangest swing since Barkley but he does score pretty well with it so, as Tiger says "there is no one way to play the game". Personally, I'm told that I have a great swing so, Why does my ball go everywhere but where I want it to? I guess that's one of the ways Tiger talks about. Excited about Mondays finally. Duffy

O.K., this should put me in the dog house. The rude behavior of some golf fans from some parts of the country that yell at players while trying to set up for a shot. The players are for the most part just like we are and an occassional finger flip is appropriate in some cases. Way to go Sergio!!!

Golf Gal, Thanks for all the help! I thought we were pals? Apoc G 10, I never really noticed that in the beginning of the show. Has it been that way all season? I wonder if the past shows gave away those clues as well? Well, to all the rest, I suppose that if you were looking at my past predictions it would be safe to say that whom ever I choose to win this thing, you should bet against me and you may win. My pick this week for top gun.....Derek

Hi Chappy, I'm looking forward to your next post with great anticipation.

Hi Chappy, I cant tell if you do or dont like the show. There isn't enough actual golf on the show for anyone to build a rythem or touch. So, as we look at how the game is played I think that luck has one hell of a lot to do with the outcome. Hence, Brenda will win BB (I think) duh, who really knows? Anyone found Blair's number yet? Duffy

HMMMM..... Flexable, great looks, can golf.... Anyone have her number? I'm very old, very rich and don't have long to live..(That line usually works.
-
Well, back from Vegas a few dollars poorer but played a lot of golf. While all of you have great points on who should win I'm still going with Brenda. She definitely has the luck of the Irish and a great short game to go with it. Derek, although my early favorite cant hit his driver worth a damn unless the game changes it's name to TREE. Blair has a great chance and will agree that she has the best all around attitude. Don't know why but it does seem that the others don't seem to care for her at all. Lookig forward to next weeks show almost as much as the open.

Golf Gal....Thanks for clearing that up. I was starting to think I was dealing with mental fatigue here. I'm going to go out on a limb here and pick Brenda. Even after saying it would be the biggest upset since Ouimet over Vardon. She seems to be able to do what she has to do to win each and every time. Seriously overlooked in the ability category. Question....I haven't seen it but... Do the girls play from forward tees? Not knocking the girls ability but Gerina was seriously long and the men couldn't seem to catch up to her drives. GO BRENDA!!! you little bit of Ireland you. She makes me laugh.

Golf Gal, If the show was taped last fall, who are you interviewing? The competitors can't still be there can they?
-
Come on guys, let's play nicely.
-
The thing about the teaser shots before commercials is that you never see who has made or missed the shot. You have to stay tuned for "Who did that!" Lobster.... Brenda seems like alot of fun with a quick wit. I think they need a new bad guy since Brian bombed out so it's Brenda. She makes me laugh.

Well, to answer one question, I think of everyone on the course as a friend of mine but no, I didn't know the fellow before we played.

Lots of help here. I think I'm getting over the trauma of that round and will try some of the methods here if (and I hope it doesn't) it ever happens again. Found out another thing as well, It helps one to air out a problem here and get past it. I think that I was as anxious over that round as Ed (Mr. 400) and couldn't wait for the round to be completed. As an aside, I emailed the course and told them of our problem and they are sending us a cert for a free round. Duffy

Hi All, I agree, Gerina has gotten progressively worse and last week she looked as if she should be in bed. So far as how the show is taped, I've heard several references to yesterday and tomorrow so, I'd have to agree that it's probably taped within a couple of weeks. Also, I believe that the entire contest is completed well before it's aired. Probably at least a month before we see it. Duffy

Hi All, I was recently a walk on at a club that I don't normally play. I was pleased when the stater put me on with a couple of fellas that played the course often. We were then joined by a fourth a few minutes later when I noticed that the fourth fellow to join us looked to be about a 400 handicap. I really don't mind playing with beginners as we were all one at one time. My question is this, The two other guys that we were playing with were brutal toward the guy and I could see his embarrasment and humiliation and felt horrible for him. The course was crowded and I really couldn't separate so, How do I deal with %*!$# holes like this without creating an even bigger problem? Is there an answer to this? I have to say that I have never seen anything like this before and hope that I never will again. Thanks, Duffy

I have to go mostly on instinct as well. If I look at a putt from both sides of the hole I'll often read a break completely opposite from one side to the other so, I've stopped doing it.

Hi Gang, Well, he may not be the best known golfer on tour but after watching last weekend at the memorial I'd have to say the for purity in a golf swing, Johnathan Byrd was very impressive. One of the commentaters compared his swing to Hogan and I must say that it looked very close.

Hi Back Golf Gal and all, Well ,I thought I had this figured out but Brenda seems to have a golf god in her pocket. My original finally still looks as if it may happen, Derek and Gerina with Gerina as runner up. I hope Gerina isn't as ill as she sounds. Brenda would be the biggest upset since Ouimet over Vardon but I suppose anything could happen and Blair, although lovely would have to barrow Brenda's golf god to get past next week. So, my pick for elimination next week...... Blair.

Thanks Mr. Useless. By the way my wife calls me that from time to time.

I'm not really sure that your particular problem isn't so particular. It seems to be the story of every golfer alive or what ever activity someone is involved in. I shoot competitively and it's the same there. Hit everything fast and smooth one day and for crap the next. Look at Tiger with his driver lately.

Hi Guys, I concentrated on keeping my hands in front of the club head until the last mili secocond. It feels somewhat like a whip action at the bottom of the swing which accellerates the club head thru the hitting zone at contact. You have to do it slowly and watch what is happenning at the bottom and then try it at full speed. It takes no more effort but tempo is key to success. Kinda hard to describe in words but you can probably call up past episodes of the Golf Fix and watch MB explain it. I don't think it was more than a couple of weeks ago. Good Luck with this. The best way to describe what it looks like would be to hold your hands at the bottom of the swing at about the center of your stance with the shaft of the club still at almost 90* still on its way down. Hey $2, I've never had anyone ask me to play a $2 Nassau and have always wondered what the hell it is. A little help here for your ignorant friend.
