  1. Yeah I thought about how ugly that would look, but I figure function over form, right? I've always bought my putters and drivers (LOTS of drivers) separately and kept everything else to sets. I'm trying to get more serious about my game though and want to try to keep the CoG of all my clubs relatively the same. I just kind of assumed that buying individual clubs would help me achieve that easier than a set.
  2. Kind of a weird question but.... do you guys buy your irons usually in sets or individually? I own 2 sets and it had just occurred to me to start buying a new set one club at a time. Thoughts?
  3. I was down in St. Croix for business this past week and decided to bring my clubs and play a round with a co-worker Saturday afternoon at Carambola, a resort/spa/hotel with a golf course. Like pretty much everything on St. Croix, the views are breathtaking. Nothing but lush green mountains and the occasional view of the crystal clear blue waters of the Caribbean. The course, which was in decent shape, was a pretty fun to play. I shot a 40 on the front nine, but reality kicked in and the back nine did not go as well. I triple-bogied 15 and considered braking the bunker rake over my knees before cooler heads prevailed Overall, good times were had for sure. Anyone else have any experience with this course or any other courses in the Caribbean? My company does quite a bit of business down there and I'm thinking about bringing my clubs along more regularly if there are more courses worth playing.
  4. I'm sure we have some Orlando members on this forum... seeing how it is one of the greatest golf destinations in the country. I was wondering what everyone's favorite courses were. I personally really like Stoneybrook West. I also LOVE, please hold the laughter, Rio Pinar. I know, it's old school, but it's not too hard and it's just a blast to play.
  5. A few of my buddies have started 'building' drivers and you're right: they are even more addicted than me. I'm really considering swooping up a Callaway Diablo. Anyone hit one of these?
  6. I'm what some of you may refer to as a 'driver-addict'. I can't help myself but buy, or atleast want to buy, every driver i come across. I have bought and sold more drivers than I can count on my hands and feet combined in probably only the last 3 years. And it's not like I'm a heavy hitter; I guess for me it just doesn't get any better than ripping one off the tee and watching it sail into the sky and then land gently in the middle of the fairway. MmmHmmm, puts a smile on my face just thinking about it Anyway, I was just wondering if you guys bought more of your drivers new or used. I mostly buy new, but as this economy is tightening I'm starting to think that I might have to mix it up and dive into some of the local used-club bins. ps - First thread started! I feel so privileged.

  8. Approach shots are huge. Probably the most under-rated aspect of golf in terms of difficulty-to-importance ratio.

First post on this forum. I got two words for you, Cougar: chill out. Seriously man, life is too short and golf is something you are supposed to be playing for fun. At the end of the day, it's just a game. Don't let someone else's actions ruin your day. Just my $.02, Steve
