  1. I am a 12 handicap and have been using a set of Ping i10's. Someone at the club house had a slightly used set of Raptures at the course this weekend for sale. I decided to take them to the range and see the difference. WOW. I never hit a ball that straight in my life. Dont think you will be able to work it, but the ball went higher, longer and straighter then I hit with my Ping i10's. Needless to say, the Raptures came home with me.
  2. I have started using the El-Cheapo's from Walmart. They are made by Callaway and are synthetic. You get two for $12 I think. I tried them in a tight and beleive it or not, they IMHO are the best gloves for the money I have played. They dont slip when extremely sweaty, hold decent in the rain and I have been playing with the same 2 for about a year now at two rounds a week. I have never had a leather glove last that long and the gloves feel very similiar to leather. Just my .02$.
  3. I bought one of them that is real REAL BIG. I don't know why. Seen a pro using it. I could barely fit it in my bag. I used it 4 rounds and changed.
  4. Not a big fan of Callaways. A friend bought the Mizunos and really improved his iron play. He is around a 20 handicap. I recently switched from Ping i10's to a set of Ping Raptures. Club pro convinced me to try them and WOW what a difference. Cannot work the ball, but boy does it go straight.
  5. Not from Alabama, but we tell people we are from LA. Lower Alabama. Live about 20 miles from Alabama line in NW Florida.
  6. Ditto..........
  7. Economical but really nice...........Destin, Florida. You have the some of the world's most beautiful beaches, shopping for the missus and plenty of golf courses for yourself. You can stay at a $1K a night or $200 a night resort, your choice.
  8. I have to agree. I have been playing the pro v1x for years. I got fitted for a set of Ping i10's about 2 months ago and they sent them to me with the wrong shafts. The guy at the pro shop gave me about 2 dozen of the TP Red's for screwing up. I was skeptical, but thought what the heck, their FREE! My playing partner who is usually even with me in driving distance was amazed. I was out driving him by 20 yards. He also plays the Pro v1x. The held greens pretty good also. I could not make them spin like the pro v1x's, but that is an easy thing to adjust too. I have never like any Taylormade balls, but these are the real deal.
  9. Anything you need? How about a nice rain suit. We never think about a nice one until it starts raining. I like the idea of playing a course you would not normally treat yourself to.
