I think the 2011 Tavistock polo shirts are the coolest ever! Great looking in green with piping and white sides. Anyone know where I can buy them?

I'm a high handicapper and was looking to add an easy to hit 5 wood to my arsenal. I thought that a higher face (rather than a shallow face) would be more forgiving; yet, after having just tried a G15 5 wood with the shallow face on the driving range, I hit it long and straight. Frankly I was surprised. Any thoughts on these woods: XCG3 Tour Exotics, Ping G15, Adams Speedline Fast 10, Baffler Rail. Any others I should consider? THANK YOU!

Got excited with all the talk. So I went to a local pro shop, picked it up and liked the clean finish and white color of the Rossa Corza (Ghost). But it didn't feel right for me. Spent 20 minutes trying to like it, but didn't. Never make a decision on looks alone. And like it's been said here countless times, pick a putter because you like its feel and it works for you. Undoubtedly many people will game this and that's great because it works for them.

Hi Jim, Glad to see your enthusiasm is leading you to look into how much more the V1 will improve your swing analysis. Curious to see, if in fact you end up purchasing it, exactly how much the slow motion of the EX-FH20 is improved and if the software will allow you to increase definition? I'm sure you're looking into this and I know for one that I would appreciate hearing your results. I picked up a Velbon tripod w/quick release head from B&H; at 29.95. I haven't used the FH20 yet as the cold weather prevents me from getting to the course. I imagine after the holidays that the Casio EX-FH20 will probably enjoy a price decrease since the FH25 is slated to replace it. Not sure if the FH25 will present anything more to those of us who are primarily interested in the slow-motion aspect of the FH20. Keep us informed of your progress. Perhaps the best thing to happen to golf since the advent of GPS. Good luck!

Love my Monster Hibore XLS 10.5 driver w/fujikura graphite shaft. Long & straight....and love the sound upon impact.

This will be my holiday gift to myself and one to my golfing buddy. Can't decide between the Kodak Zi8 camcorder or Casio FH 20 camera though the Casio is almost twice the price of the Kodak. Anyone out there going through the same gyrations? Any thoughts?

Up to 1,000,000 fps! I'm afraid to ask what it costs. In the last 6 months what new camera or camcorder has come out under $1000 that will provide the slow motion, without blurring and degradation of sharpness, showing impact of ball as well as showing the entire swing (in all its glory)?

Never compared the Monster Hibore XLS to the older Hibore XLS simply because the pro shop didn't have it. As I mentioned earlier I had compared it to 8 other 2009 drivers and it was the only driver that I repeatedly belted out in a consistently straight line. I love the loud sound when I connect.

Tried over 9 different drivers in early June, and kept on coming back to the Monster Hibore XLS: hit it further and straighter consistently. The noise at impact doesn't bother me at all. In fact I like it. A colleague of mine with a 10 handicap fell in love with the Monster driver as well. But didn't like the noise so passed on it. C'est la vie.

Tried about 9 different drivers over a period of six weeks before deciding on the Cleveland Monster Hibore XLS, 10.5, yellow grey 50 gram shaft and I love it! Noisy it is, but so what. My golf partner borrowed it and went to the driving range and was amazed how consistently straight and far he hit with it though he found it whippy. Because of the noise, he ended up with TM R7. You know this: ultimately give your selection a good try over a period of time and you'll be very pleased with your decision. Good luck.

I spent a few weeks time hitting many drivers at the driving range, trying to find one that was most forgiving for my hitting/swing habits. In the end it came down to 2 drivers: *Cleveland Monster Hibore XLS *Bobby Jones Player Series I chose the Monster Hibore XLS, 10.5 with Reg Flex, 50 gr Fujikura graphite shaft ($199). And I love it (despite its loud noise upon contact).

For your other shoes you can get the same orthotics made by the same company under the trade name of Lynco at a discount by going to www.jimmytheshoedoctor.com . The Callaway Aetrex orthotic is specially made and uses some different materials that I believe has some antimicrobial capability. I bought the Callaway first and have no regrets. The Lynco by Aetrex I've already placed in my running shoes and soon will go in my dress shoes. Since you will be getting new shoes, might I suggest you try them on later in the afternoon rather than the morning as this is the time when your feet are bigger. And don't be rushed into buying your shoes. Try them on and spend some time walking in them in the store. Remember you might need to go a size larger and/or wider to accommodate the orthotic insert (even with the shoe liner/insert removed). Best of luck!

I have to tell you right off the bat that they are the best orthotic that I have discovered that are off the shelf (as contrasted to custom made). I tried Spenco's first as the price was right, but they didn't provide the support necessary for someone like me who has flat feet and overpronates. I wore them in my Adidas shoes for 5 hours this afternoon and they felt great. I paid $70 for them and they are worth every penny. Ideally you should take your shoes to the store that carries them, remove the shoe liner and introduce the Aetrex so that the fit is right. I just brought them to the attention of my internist who is a runner. Good luck!

Want to give a gift of the Monster Hibore XLS Driver 10.5 Loft and don't know the difference between the two different standard shafts that are offered: one a 50 gram the other 65 gram. He's a low handicapper so I thought I'd get a stiff flex. Which of the two shafts should I select? Thank you.

After a 16+ years hiatus, I returned to golf and did my homework re-familiarizing myself with all the new advances in equipment. Rather than use Flinstone-type clubs of yester-year, I decided to look into a whole new set. So when I heard my college friend swearing about his Scotty Cameron putter, I had to look into trying it out at the pro shop. I spent many hours in a few different pro shops putting a good dozen different putters, including a few SC's. I couldn't discern why SC's seem to have a near cult-like following (and I do not mean to disparage any SC owners). It doesn't hurt when perhaps the greatest player of all time--Tiger Woods--uses one. For me the SC did not swing smoothly enough. I liked the "buttery" feel of the Odyssey Black Series i #1, Bettinardi BC6, and Ping i Anser blade. I'm not that concerned about resale value. I tried everything to like the SC. Just couldn't! In the end I went with what I liked and not some other person's well-intentioned opinion.

I tried them all the Scotty's, and I couldn't justify the purchase. My good friend swears by it and has the low handicap to back it up. I, however, went with the Ping i Anser. Very sweet buttery feel. But, hey, like you never heard it before: IT'S WHAT FEELS GOOD & WORKS FOR YOU!

Got a chance to try the PING iN Anser V2 today and while I couldn't compare it at the pro shop with my current Ping i series putter, I decided to stick with my PING i series. Couldn't discern any major improvement. Thought it to be heavier in feel. To each his (her) own. Again, as has been said many times, selecting a putter is such a personal decision.

Curious if anyone has bought or tried the new Ping iN (anser v2 blade in particular) which uses a hollowed out construction and nano technology. I love and own the Ping i series blade right now and was wondering if there is a discernible difference between the two. I'm not sure if this is available at the pro shops yet, but it is there on the Ping website. Thanks.

I have to tell you that I have spent many hours trying so many different putters in the last 2 weeks and keep coming back to 2 Odyssey putters: 1) Black Series i #1 ($269) and 2) White Hot Tour #1 ($149) First off, I love the inserts on both of these as they provide a "soft" touch and don't get the loud "click" upon impact which many golfers do prefer because of the feedback. Additionally I prefer blade designs though I did enjoy Black series i #9. Though I hit both putters very well, I loved the feel and sensitivity of feedback from the Black Series i #1--smooth as silk-- over the White Tour #1. There is definitely a big discernible difference between the two putters in feel and weighting. Odyssey golf has a website where you can input your hitting style, stance, grip etc. and they will come up with a recommendation. Curiously and remarkably their recommendation based on my input was (#1) White Hot Tour 1 and (#3) Black Series i #1. The Black Series i #1 is priced substantially higher than the White Hot Tour #1. Perhaps I'll win the lottery and the pricing subject will become moot. You've heard it here many times--ad nauseam--it really is a very personal experience. So there is no substitute for picking up putters at your pro shop and taking the time--well--to putt. That's why there are hundreds of putters for people to select from. Check out the Odyssey website and use it as a guide. Good luck. Remember whatever brand or model you choose, that is the best one for YOU.

You've confirmed what I suspected. Anyone own the Ltd Edition series of the Vokeys and would the Limited Edition really be a step up or would it just be a marketing device?

Need your insight for "the ultimate wedge" which I would like to give as a gift to a very close colleague and friend. Reading the many threads it is very apparent that many golfers prefer the Vokeys. I noticed on the Titleist web site that they have or have had limited editions. Not sure if this is a worthwhile pursuit. He's been playing for 40+ years, but I don't know his handicap. Anyway, I am not constrained by any budget--so what would you recommend?
