  1. I have play one for almost 3 years now. Everyone jokes about me not changing but I have so much confidence in that club. Its ashame you dont see more peopel use them.
  2. This is a very good rules question. My only question to everyone who has answered is, a bunker is a hazard just like a creek or any water hazard for that matter. If memory serves me correctly you cannot remove anything from a hazard (sticks, leaves) I also know that you used to not be able to remove rocks from a bunker. So is it in the rules that you can legally remove an obstruction from a hazard in this case being the bunker?
  3. I have lived in both Pinehurst and Charleston and they are both incredible. Charleston has Kiawah, Wild Dunes, Bullls Bay and many other golf courses. Pinehurst in my mind is the golf heaven. You have so many option in Pinehurst, but keep in mind you will have some days in the upper 30's and low 40's contrary to popular belief we have relatively cold winters here in NC. Another thing to remeber is the cost of licing in Charleston is alot higher than most people think.
  4. Furyk is an amazing player. He doesnt make it look the best but he gets it done and gets the ball in the hole. I dont know if he will be a contender at Bethpage because he doesnt hit the ball that far. He averages 275 currently and I think having more distance is a huge help there. Just a personal opinion what do you guys think?
  5. The main reason you are slicing it, im guessing its a fairly significant slice, is because you are casting the club at the top of your swing and it is causing you to come over the top of the ball. If you look closeley it looks as if you starting the motion of casting a fishing rod as you start your downswing. This promotes an outside to in swing path which will cause you to slice the ball everytime. The only drill I can think of that works is to put a headcover in your right underarm. Actually tuck it up in you underarm and hold it in by squeezing it between your arm and side of your chest. Then take practice swings and you can even hit balls with it in but make sure you dont let that cluhead cover fall out. If you keep it tucked under then there is no way you can cast the club at the top and it will make you drop the club on the appropriate path. I hope this helps. It will feel awkeward but trust me it will work.
  6. Well just as I said this I went home last night and was watching a little bit of the European Tour and saw a guy that snatched one way left into some tall grass. About 15 people looked for the 5 minutes and no one found it. So they picked him up in an officials cart and took him back to the tee. So i stand corrected, but it doesnt happen much.
  7. That would really surpirse me if they can lee people fill out a form and send them a driver if one of the two players win. They normally do these things to increase sales but it makes no since becuase there is no risk for the consumer.
  8. How can it advertise no purchase necessary if the first requirement is to purchase one of the listed Callaway drivers.
  9. I personally can't remember a time that i have seen a tour player have to walk back to the the tee or spot of previous shot. This isnt becaust they break the rules its because they have a fore caddie that will signal their ball OB or signal them when a stroke and distance penalty will be required. In this case they would have taken the appropriate drop and would not have walked back.
  10. Tough Question I was going to say 12 under as well. The greens may not be great but they will only be putting from a few feet most of the time.
  11. Yes this is one of the option on a red staked hazard. You can "always" no matter what take a stroke and distance penalty.
  12. Yeah I believe that is correct. So even if it was beyond the green you would still have to keep the point where the ball last crossed the margin of the hazard between you and the hole and go back as far as you want which would still put you on the other side of the hazard. I knew something didnt seem write with what i said. Normally you see yellow staked hazard in front of a green.
  13. No the MWT will not make a big enough difference to cure a hook bad enough that you are loosing golf balls. I hit an r7 quad for a long time and loved it. I would say the weights arranged correctly could affect the ball flight 3 - 8 yards left to right, i could tell a bigger difference in high and low ball flight. Keep in mind i ordered the heavier weight set for the driver.
  14. I agree with you 100%....dont mess around with all the games because that will take you out of your element And BTW that is one of the best golf books ever written.
  15. I'm guessing it was a red stake because if had been a yellow stake and the hazrd was over the green he could have actually dropped the ball on the green. I have never thought about that but it would be legal if it was a yellow marked hazard.
