I know pros are fined if they curse on tv and its caught. Say an amateur is getting a lot of tv time and lets out an f bomb. Can he get fined?

I think of myself as the casual golfer. Don't care if you are moving slightly in my swing, or make a small noise (Coughing, moving arm) and generally like to keep it light. Played with a guy that needed absolute silence in order to hit. Not saying that is wrong, just different. What sort of golfer are you?

Wow. Glad you knew how to handle it. Did you walk slowly to the dog as to not rile him up? Thank you for protecting and serving your community. Respect the Blue Line!

Could be golf related. Does not have to be. Here is mine. About 3 months ago, I was driving back from a concert with a few friends (1 girls, 2 guys) It was about a 1:30 drive back to where we all lived, and the majority of the trip was on this long deserted road. halfway along the trip, we saw this apparent car accident ahead. From the second I saw it, i knew something was up. It looked staged, in a way I will try my best to explain. for the hourish time I was driving on this road, i had seen maybe 3 or 4 other cars. The damage this sedan had looked like it had been hit by an 18 wheeler going 100 mph, something I felt wasn't possible to happen on a residential, country-like road. I asked whether we should stop, and my 2 buddies tried to act all macho in front of this girl, saying "What are you, scared of something, etc". However, the girl told us me to keep driving. I have known her for a long time, and could tell something was wrong. She normally is very humanitarian and would have tried to help any possible survivors. I slowly drove by and about 100 feet after we passed, we saw several people come out from the bushes near the car. I still don't know what would have happened if we stopped, but I am sure glad i trusted my gut and kept going. so there is one of mine, lets hear yours.

I am in a Sports Analysis class. If you could take 5 minutes to answer these questions (Doesn't have to be all), it would be greatly appreciated. The goal of this is to show how the average thinks compared to the pro. I have the responses from a few high level ams, and a pro. State your handicap in responses... 1. 40 foot putt or 15 foot chip? 2. Front, Middle, or Back hole location? 3. Uphill or Downhill shot? 4. Downwind or into wind wedge shot? 5. Hard 7i or soft 6i? 6. Go to tee shot? 7. Chip and run or spinner? 8. When chipping off green, flagstick in or out? 9. Most pressure you felt in golf.

I asked about whether 5 years of service was worth playing golf. I did not ask why haven't i got 10 offers yet. I didn't expect anything because that wasn't my question. Thank you for your service. I did not mean to offend you. I was simply asking a question.

And? Please stop changing my profile picture aswell.

I have posted a few times about playing college golf. I have gotten some marginal interest from D1 schools, but mainly basic emails, nothing personal. The few schools that have showed interest are the military academies. It would be great to play Division 1 golf in college. But it is a 5 year service academy. Don't get me wrong, I have a deep respect for veterans and soldiers defending the country. But I know service isn't for everyone. What would you do? Would you play golf, knowing you will have to do 5 years of active service after graduation.

I am sorry to hear about your experience. It is very New Yorkish, like a poster already mentioned. Very quick and sometimes rude. Give the course another chance. I will be speaking to a contact at the course about your experience. You will be getting something for your troubles.

I understand playing quickly, but if a 2 footer has some break, you bet i will be taking my time reading it.

What would walking on be like? I assume it is a few rounds where you have to go low? Since i don't have any tournaments to really talk about, what does my body in the email entail
-
Tell me then, did you predict that Tiger wouldn't have a major after 2008? I bet statistics said he would. It is not silly. Bold predictions occur because someone went out on a limb. If everything was based on stats, then they would be no human aspect to it.

Am 17. I want some insight on what it takes to be a division 1 golfer. I play off a plus 2, but this comes from mainly from non tournament rounds. I have only played in a few tournaments, like county tournaments, and a few state events. No AJGA or the like, mainly due to the travel and entry fees and the fact that no tournaments are in my state. I feel like I have the ability, as I have gone low at very tough courses, like Bethpage Black before, but need advice, hopefully from those that have done D1 golf. When should i contact coaches? what should i include in contact to them. (Swing video, etc) Thanks.

No, it an individual score not a handicap. And plus the rating is different when set up with PGA Tour.
-
It was conceded after Reed made his birdie to win the match. It was about 8 foot putt.
-
Dominated the Ryder cup? He actually didn't make a birdie on that back nine vs Reed. He did have a good fedex cup run and I think it was the 10 million dollars that made him get "up" for the event.

Does it matter to you whether or not a 59 is 11 under or 13 under. Also, do you think sometimes a higher score could be better than a 59, depending on the course and day of tournament. For example, was Sergio Garcias or Tigers 61 at Firestone on the weekend with tighter pins cut better than say Justin Thomas' 59 at the Sony Open?

Well, 2015 masters he finished 6 shots back. 2015 US Open he finished 5 shots back. 2016 Masters he finished 6 shots back. 2016 Open he finished 16 SHOTS back. 2017 Masters he finished 6 shots back. 2017 Open he finished 7 shots back. He didn't contend in a single one of those tournaments on Sunday. How is it silly. I give you my opinion, I show you facts for why I think my opinion. Look at my post about the real results of Rory's finishes in majors the past 3 years:
-
Spieth who?
-
Rory hasn't contended in a major for 3 years now. And it looks like he doesn't care about golf now. I think Jday was an average player that had a hot streak and has cooled off to be an average golfer. Crazier things have happened. If I told you Tiger wouldn't have won another major from 2008, you would have laughed. I believe it is time for a young gun to come up and dominate. I see that person in the mirror everyday... :)

What do you think? I used it to map Bethpage black for my round today. As long as the clubs you have match how far you hit it, it seems to work. Any thoughts?

Hey TST, After lurking for a while, I decided to finally make an account to tell this story. Today, I drove up to Bethpage Black. Got paired up with a nice guy, good game, and I am real glad I had a witness. I shot a 69. Played from the tips. started with 6 straight pars. Then birdied 7 and finished with 2 more pars for a 1 under front nine. Struck the ball beautifully on the front nine. Got another birdie on 12th hole, when I hit my 237 yard approach to 6 feet and made birdie. Made some key putts on 15th and 16th to save par and finished with pars. So there it is. A bogey free 2 under, on one of the hardest golf courses out there. My playing partner, Patrick told me that was the greatest round he has seen yet, and said he wanted to see me on tour one day. :) I hope there are more rounds like this to come.
