  1. I do like my set very much. I've had mine for a few months. In golf, it is easy to get bombarded with tips, swing theory, and varying viewpoints. This can lead to trying something new each time you visit the range. I decided I would make Ledbetter the single source of my instruction, and groove the mechanics he teaches when I practice at the range. The DVD's cover everything in the golf swing for the beginner and drills to unlearn bad habits for those of us that have been learning for a while. The video analysis and ability to video your own swing is nice. You compare your swing to Charles Howell's at various check points in the swing to see areas where you are breaking down. If you really want to put in the time to get a better swing, this set can help. However, just because you hit every fairway, then every green, doesn't mean you won't 3 putt.
  2. Yeah, must be. I'm guessing Steroids and HGH don't usually come in packages with ingredients listed on them. That is sensational resolution! That is really a fine photograph. Has she seen it?
  3. That's a great point that should not be lost amongst all this. . . THERE IS AN OPTIMAL LAUNCH ANGLE AND SPIN RATE FOR YOUR SWING SHAPE AND SPEED TO MAXIMIZE DISTANCE. Head loft and shaft specs vary so that once a launch monitor reveals you are launching lower than optimal with too much spin, (or reverse) you can combine equipment together, alter your launch dynamics and ACHIEVE OPTIMAL DISTANCE! Don't buy any driver without launch monitor assistance!
  4. You know, I think the three important factors of Talent, Motivation, and opportunity do not intersect but once a generation. Phil is talented. He now has other interests (like kids) pulling on him. Duval was talented - lost the motivation. You never hear of those that don't have an opportunity. Those without the talent just make a good living on tour and can never compete with the likes of Nelson, Snead, Hogan, Nicklaus and Woods. One last differentiating factor is "killer instinct" - not ever thinking losing is "ok" To answer your question, not till Tiger gets old or goes through another swing change.
  5. If I remember correctly, I think they had just been drenched in a sudden rainstorm. Perhaps the bib was getting rather uncomfortable/heavy. Could not wait to get it off . . . Steve also knows Tiger well enough to know Cink had more chances to win than Tiger usually gives opponents in the first 3 playoff holes, and that Tiger was not going to let it go past the fourth. Confidence Steve has in Tiger developed by 10 years of proving it.
  6. Had a teacher tell me this is "ball anxiety". Whatever. Try to up your focus on the target, and glance at the ball. Most of us focus on the ball and glance at the target. Also, one can hit decent long shots with weight not getting fully forward. That's not really the case with the short clubs - must get to the left side! Just a couple of things that I work on. Good Luck!
  7. You know, I kinda like the demenor of Peter Alliss, the swing knowledge of Peter Kostis, and Millers frank style. Rather play a round with McCord & Feherty though. By the way, Faldo has contracted with the Golf Channel to be the lead analyst for the Tournaments they produce in 2007.
  8. I use Callaway HX Tour - a great wind ball for out here in Las Vegas with plenty of distance too. Great control around the greens. Last paid 35.99 as a member at GolfGalaxy with a $2 coupon - down to 33.99!
  9. rmgators . . . Everyone has a different tolerence for price. If you buy a 1500 though - I am certain you will not be unhappy at all. It is not very dependent on steadiness. Very quick to shoot & read. Not like older models. If you are into golf - (by 10 hcp looks like it) - the additional cost over the rangefinder you indicate may be just a couple rounds of golf. For a tool you will use on every approach shot for the next 5 -10 years - it is a no brainer to me to get the easiest, probably longer range unit. By the way - I don't sell 1500's - I just love mine! Good Luck!
  10. Boy! I guess I would say I like to watch shot makers work the ball - move it around at will. Probably would include Sergio, Phil, Furyk, Tiger, - How about Anika???
  11. "I know that i have my left hand twisted so i can see 3 to 3 1/2 knuckle's which helps me keep the ball low, otherwise I tend to hit high pop ups. (right handed)" Wow! I'm no pro - but that sounds like a very "strong" grip! I suppose we can't blame it on hitting too many balls because you say it happens on first or second ball. Sounds to me like momentum is meeting resistance. Your painful areas being the resistance. So, your wrists may be trying to arrest the momentum of the club - lighten you grip pressure & let the club go where it wants - may not like the result for a while - but you should be pain free!
  12. Ok, I will chime in . . . I love my Pinseeker 1500 (no slope) range finder - I think Erik reviewed this one - bought it due to the review. It has a "pinseeker" feature that locks onto the pin by reporting to you what item was the shortest distance you targeted. So as you sweep your aim across the green, it measures trees (176ds) behind the green - hits the flag 154yds - then maybe some bushes back there too (172yds). The Pinseeker logic tells you the pin is 154. It knows you do not want the longer items it hit. Just avoid overhanging branches or other players on the green ahead. Very very quick and easy to lock onto pins. Not technique dependent. It has one button to switch modes to let you point and shoot stuff like bunkers & trees without "pinseeking". Also wouldn't you like to know if the flag is 4 yards or 14 yards past the lip of the front bunker? I love that. From back in the fairway, depth perception can run greenside bunkers and flags together. Once the rangefinder let's you know you have a one club cushion - THERE IS NO FEAR!!! J.P.
  13. Well, a Phil fan here just suggesting that current talent can be measured by this years scoring average. This is independent of "quality of field". Thru the 06 Buick Tiger 69.58 over 36 rounds Phil 69.90 over 61 rounds So, over the course of 4 rounds in a tourny, Tiger wins by 1.28 strokes. Is Tiger's 0.32 stroke average per round 2x better than Phil? Guess it just depends on which statistics you choose to use. Jp
  14. I agree - one or two strokes for the pros . . . May be more revealing to know how many shots a tour caddy could save a chump like myself if they carried my bag! J.P.
