  1. I have a Ping G10 driver, 3 wood, and 18 hybrid. Love them all. I also have the i10 irons, absolutely love those as well. Solid feel and great forgiveness in all the clubs. Even the i10's, which are suspose to be more like blades- and really are- have the same forgiveness as my old cobra cavity back irons, and I hit these 5 yards farther with much better accuracy. I have been a Ping guy since the beginning, and probably always will be. However not a huge fan of their wedges. And I tried just about every Ping putter they had at golf galaxy and I just cant find one that matches the feel of a scotty.
  2. if you only have 13 clubs, go with the two wedges (I am assuming you will be adding a Gap wedge to your bag, which I think is a very important club if you have trouble hitting 3 quarter shots with your PW like I do). If you really shop around you can probably find a 50-52 and a 54-56 vokey for around 150-160 bucks. Then get the rangefinder. That puts you a little over the 300 you wanted to spend, but I think its well worth it. If your driver is over 5 years old I would buy a new driver in the 200-250 dollar range then squeak out a gap wedge as well.
  3. No offense, but if you can hit the ball as far and as "controlled and smooth" as you say you can why the heck are you a 22 capper? You should be AT WORST a 10, and thats even if you dont have a great short game. And your comment about someone who can only hit it 250 max never being in high level competition is just such a stupid comment. Go take a look at the PGA tour statistics on their website. The Bottom 25% of PGA tour players average around 250-260 (and by bottom 25% I mean bottom 25% of driving distance, NOT bottom 25% overall) and yet there they are competing on the PGA tour.
  4. Hi im new here and figure this is a good place to start: Driver : 250 yds 3-Wood: 230 yards 18 Hybrid: 210 yards 3 iron: 200 yds 4 iron: 190 yds 5 iron: 180 yds 6 iron: 170 yds 7 iron: 160 yds 8 iron: 150 yds 9 iron: 130-140 yds PW: 120-130 yds 52: 100-110 yds 56: 90-100 yds 60: 20-70 yds I too was surprised at first to see so many of these people that are hitting it 300+ yards off the tee, especially people with 15+ handicaps. They must be very "long and wrong" or not have a good short game. I am not a bomber by anymeans but im in the fairway 90% of the time.
