  1. I injured myself (stress fracture / intercostal strain) 6 months ago. I still have some discomfort. Email me.
  2. Yes. Yes. & Yes. Here is a summary of my FRUSTRATING RIB INJURY. Initial Injury June 13th, 26 Holes of Golf. 1st reinjury, June 17th, 9 Holes of Golf 2nd reinjury, June 20, 18 Holes of Golf From June 20th through June 26th could not lay on stomach. Hurt to breath, cough, and sneeze. Doc said it was intercostal strain / chronritis (sp) 3rd re-injury, July 22, Reached for cell phone in car and rib popped, horrible pain. Could not lay on stomach, hurt to breath, cough, sneeze, and could not lift arm. Pain at level 8. Doc did xrays and ct scan. Showed hairline fracture in 7th rib. Apparently I had fractured the rib during the 2nd injury...LESSON LEARNED - If your ribs hurt - DON'T PLAY GOLF.... August 19, 2009, Rib felt almost completely better, pain is below level 1 when walking. Stretched really hard was considering playing golf if I could stretch without pain. Felt pain. Did not play golf. August 21, 2009, Rib has pain at about a level 4 when walking, reinjured while stretching on August 19, 2009. It does not hurt when I breath, cough or sneeze. August 27, 2009, Rib pain is almost gone. I have not walked or stretched in 7 days. Walked 1 mile very slow. Rib pain was a level 1. August 28, 2009, Rib pain is almost gone. August 29, 2009, Walked 1 mile, Swam for 1 hour, had sex. Walking nor swimming bothered rib. Pain level below 1. August 30, 2009, Walked 1 mile very slowly. Pain level below 1, however still nagging when turning a certain way. Still cannot do a sit up without pain.
  3. Your right. I am getting older...
  4. Ping. They were making today's "new irons" in the 90s with the Ping Eye 2.
  5. I just started back golfing 4 months ago. Played alot growing up. Just a warning if my handicap doesn't scare you off from my advice! But I had a similar problem and purchased a 50inch Broom Putter 2 Ball Oydessy (sp). I am putting much better - actually putting is all I have been able to do over the last 5 weeks due to a injured intercostal muscle or rib fracture from to much golf. Have you every used a broom putter or tried one?
  6. One other thing. If you don't have any clubs you may want to schedule lessons with a pro at a local public course. Most pro's can make you just one or two clubs. My pro makes clubs from home and charges about 20 bucks a club & they will be made to fit you. The club heads are like no-names, but they do the trick. You could also check with family members and friends who might have golfed at one time. Normally golfers will have tons of clubs they no longer use or want. They will likely let you borrow a few or maybe give you a set. If a neighbor came to my door and asked if he could borrow a club I would like give him one or two I don't use anymore.
  7. Here's a tip. I just started 4 months ago. I love it! And I am now injured... and cannot play. So before you go out to the range - search the internet for stretching and warming up. Also practice and play in moderation at first. Chances are you will get the golf bug and want to play as much as you can. Fight and gradually become a golfer. Also taking a few lessons first thing will help you develop good habits. I would argue that lessons are more important than clubs. Just get 1 or 2 clubs and a putter and have your swing checked out. Thanks.
  8. I have seen two doc's. One said Intercostal Muscle Strain. Another one said Costalchondritis. I have had 1 xray. Nothing is broke but I believe it could be a hairline fracture. I just started back playing in April. Shooting 100. I had been going to the range everday during lunch and hitting balls to improve my game. I overdid it.
  9. Duffing the ball and praticing to much.
  10. Well. It really really really hurts and it really really really sucks!
  11. Thanks for responding. I meant to type that injured my ribs playing golf...
  12. Have any of the posters ever experienced a Rib Injury / Fracture / Strain -- etc. I am going on 5 weeks without golf. Anyone care to share their experience and frustrations?
  13. I would rather be a horrible "golfer" than a great person who likes golf.
  14. My ribs hurt to. I have been having horrible pain for 4 weeks. My doctor says its costalchondiritis. I think its a fractured rib. I am very frustrated. Anyone want to talk about recovery? If so email me. Thanks. Aaron
  15. I am a new member and cannot post new threads. However I am suffering from a Rib Injury. X-Rays were fine. Doctor says I have costalchondritis from playing golf. I think it might be a rib fracture that the X-Ray did not pick up. I played to many holes of golf bout 4 weeks ago. Felt sharp pains in my ribs - intercostal muscles. Rested for a week and played again. Pain doubled. Now its been 4 weeks. Two days ago it felt as if the pain was subsiding, then I mowed the yard. Pain increased....... I am going nutz!!! I love to golf, jog, and garden. I am 30 years old. Afraid this "whatever it is" will not get better.......Any suggestions?
