Just found out how bad my swing is!
golfnuub replied to kleraudio's topic in Instruction and Playing Tips
i spent $360 for 5 one hour lessons with a local pga pro in my area which includes video analysis an not extra charge. i found him by going to pga.com and using the pro finder option. -
What are your top 3 drivers for a high handicapper?
golfnuub replied to Sheekamoo's topic in Clubs, Grips, Shafts, Fitting
i just got back into golf and was looking at drivers. just like you i am a high handicapper still. i went with a 07 burner driver stiff flex with 10.5 degrees. took it out to the range after demoing it at a golf store and every shot i kept slicing. so instead of complaining/getting pissed off and spending more money on a different driver i signed up for lessons with a PGA Pro in my area. after 1 one hour session he had me hitting the ball straight as an arrow. since my first lesson my swing and overall flight path as improved 10 fold, i think i went from driving the ball around 150 with my severe slice(when i say severe i mean the flight path looked like it had a right angle, it was a tree and house magnet) to about 230-240 straight. granted i do still have some shots where i have that slice reappearing but its definately related to my swing and not the club and its more of a push/fade than the right angle slice i had before. so my advice invest in some lessons along with that new driver to cure that slice! or just go get lessons with your 3 wood for now, cure your slice then go shopping. it will make the driver purchase experience more exciting since you should be hitting the ball straight no matter which driver you are demoing. go to pga.com and click on the pro finder to find one in your area, then meet with that instructor to see if it will be a good match and money well spent. http://www.pga.com/profinder/ good luck. oh not sure if you have an edwin watts store near you but the ones down by me still have/had the 07 burner's available so did sports authority and i believe dicks sporting goods does. or there is always ebay. i purchased mine from ebay brand new for $139.99 no tax and free shipping. the seller was carlsgolfland. -
i agree. my golf instructor told me that my tees were sitting way to high and thats why i kept sky rocketing my drives. so i lowered it to where the top of the ball after it was sitting on the tee was just barely above the top of my 3 wood or driver when the club head was at address. now they have a nice trajectory, and no more sky balls!!!!

golfnuub replied to golfnuub's topic in Balls, Carts/Bags, Apparel, Gear, Etc.
i was looking at the Taylormade TP Red LDP AAA golf balls but i see they went up in price. i swear when i looked last week they were only $32.95 and now they are $57.95. i wonder what changed. i dont recall seeing anything pertaining to them being on sale last week. -

i agree 100%. i have heard most pros use shorter shafts, something around 43.5-44.5inch's.

lostgolfballs.com AAA 100 ball bucket?
golfnuub replied to golfnuub's topic in Balls, Carts/Bags, Apparel, Gear, Etc.
yea im sure they are as described but i guess im trying to get a mental picture of what they look like. im sure your AAAAA Laddie balls look brand new, im just trying to figure out how much of a difference a AAAAA looks/feels vs the AAA balls that they sell. is it just like edingc described where most of them are good but you will get a few that are pretty bad. i can only assume that in the AAAAA bucket every ball is in brand new condition. -
well i wish i could of found some used vokey spin milled wedges that were used in great condition, but since im a lefty that just wasnt in the cards for me. i went around to all the stores in my area and as usual the lefty section of wedges was a little light!!! :) in the end i bought the 2009 vokey 52, 56, 60 wedges all new from golf discount. at least i got free shipping and no sales tax!!!!! now im just waiting for them to arrive. should be here this week.

golfnuub replied to golfnuub's topic in Balls, Carts/Bags, Apparel, Gear, Etc.
i think ill go ahead and purchase a 100 ball bucket and report back and let ya know if its worth it or not. i figure they cant be anyworse than the ones i find on the courses i play.... -
anyone bought one of the 100 bucket of balls AAA from lostgolfballs.com before, if so do you like them? i know they are not as good as the AAAAA balls they sell but im just trying to figure if they are worth it at least for practicing my short game and putting with? or are they still good enough to play several rounds of golf with? thanks

was new still in wrapper when i got it off of ebay. It came from carlsgolfland which was selling them. i checked and it says return policy is 7 days for unused equipment only.... :( im pretty sure i put the dent there not them, as i dont remember seeing any dents when i unpackaged it. like i said it was still in the original wrapping from TM when i got it.
-
bought it on ebay. there is a 7 day return policy but i highly doubt i can return it since i have used it several times since i got it. i'll post a picture later tonight of the dent.
-
i just noticed on my brand new driver i somehow have a small dent on the bottom of the driver. not sure how or when it happened. will that affect distance, performance, etc????? its on the bottom near the lip where the club face and bottom meet. its about a quarter inch back from that lip.

well i stopped in at my local edwin watts store to ask about renting a hard side travel bag and the guy stated that they use to have one that they rented out but he said it came back once and it was detroyed so they didnt have one anymore, then he said something that just made my day.... He stated that he had one in the store that was his own personal one that he never used and would loan it to me. i was like holy crap is this guy serious. so i asked sounds good how much are you wanting to rent it for, and then he said those two magical words: NO CHARGE!!! :) After i heard him say that i was like sweet, you got a deal, so i went in the back with him took a look at it, the hard travel bag was in great shape, we exchanged info, i took it out to my suv, thank god i had my clubs in the back, i took them out and tested to see how they would fit, and booyaaa they fit perfectly!!!! i was soo happy at that point, granted i had already purchased some addidas golf shoes from there that day as well so im sure that helped and i have been there several times before so this guy recognized me, but never in a million years would i have thought this would of happened!!!! if i didnt see this post and someone on here suggest seeing if you can rent one this never would of happened. i just saved myself a couple hundred dollars, ill be putting that money towards lessons for sure!! and since the person picking me up has a full size pickup getting that bag in the vehicle will be no problem either.

i just bought the TM burner plus combo irons off of Ebay for $559/new and i am loving them ..... i pretty much bought all my clubs from ebay except for my putter and my vokey wedges whenever i decide to purchase those. definitately saved some cash which i can put towards some lessons to get my swing down the right way...

can someone give me some feedback on the 56.11 and 60.7 2009 vokey spin milled wedges? meaning is there a big difference in between a 56.14 and a 56.11 other than bounce being less? same goes for the 60.04 and 60.07? will the decrease in bounce make a big difference, or should i look at another brand like the cleveland or mizuno some other brand?
-
well i guess my search continues. just heard back from the company i purchased the 56.14 and 60.04 spin milled wedges in left hand from. Apparently they don't have any 56.14 in stock and the only 60 wedge they have is a 60.08. grrrrr
-
well after hours upon hours of searching this glorious tool we call the internet i finally found the titleist vokey spin milled 56.14 andf 60.04 in left handed each of them for $109.95 with free shipping. i called the company to confirm that they were brand new, they stated they were so now i am now awaiting there arrival!!!!! cant wait to get out on the course and play these... now i just have to decide if i need a GW........ :)
-
so are the the bounce options on the titleist vokey spin milled 56.11 and 60.07 still good compared to the 56.14 and 60.04? and why would Titleist not offer those clubs to lefties? out of all the wedges they seem to be the ones people use/need the most as far as loft/bounce configuration is concerned?
-
i just noticed on titleist website that the 2009 vokey spin milled wedge 56.14 and 60.04 are not available for Left handed golfers but they are available for right handers... i have searched all over the internet and cannot find any prior year vokey spin milled wedges in the 56.14 and 60.04 for left handed golfers that are brand new. anyone got any secret sites that are legit or know of someone who does have a golf shop that has them for sale currently? if i cannot find them in the loft/bounce configurations i listed above, can someone give me some feedback on the 56.11 and 60.7 2009 vokey spin milled wedges? is there a big difference between a 56.14 and a 56.11? same goes for the 60.04 and 60.07?
-
my pw has a 45deg loft, so im looking at but cant decide if i should go with a GW 52.08, SW 56.14 and LB 60.04 or should i go with just a SW and LB. but if i do that then im trying to figure out what degree and bounce i should get?
-
so what degree of bounce is ideal for sand, gap, lob wedges?
-
pardon my ignorance but what is the bounce option? what should i be looking for in regards to the bounce?
-
anybody know of a bundled set of the volkey wedges for sale somewhere? i found one on ebay that had all three in left handed but was wondering if someone knew of someplace besides ebay?
