  1. my distances were off very, very bad. with that short of a driver my max may have been 210-220. I currently swing a 44 and love it. I just dedicated myself to squaring it up. I hit my longest drive today on the course at 315 (we used a range finder).
  2. i played baseball in my younger years and have a pretty quick swing, that’s why i wasn’t surprised when i shorted my driver and could actually square up the ball that it would go far. once i started squaring my driver more, i started squaring up other clubs. i wasn’t really surprised when i hit 250+ consistently.
  3. exactly, i’m really only a sunday golfer and can do 205 easily with a heavy 5H
  4. i don’t carry a 3w i carry a 5w. i have used a 3w and yes i do drive farther. first time using my shortened club my farthest drive carried almost 300. I went to the range and used my trimmed driver for the first time today and hit 250-280 consistently. My farthest carried almost 300. I will say i’m slowly going to work my way up the a 44 inch shaft.
  5. I’m a 5’6” 18 year old. I’m relatively short with relatively short legs. My outseam is 35” (30” inseam) and i recently trimmed my driver to 39” (was 42) and i’m hitting absolute bombs. When it was 42 i would struggle to make accurate, consistent contact. My average drive now is about 190-220. I’m mainly just a sunday golfer. Was this a dumb idea?
