  1. I have heard that when you are swinging your driver, you should be able to hold your golf glove under your right arm (right handed golfer) the whole time. By doing this, it helps aid in the correct swing. Should this tip also work for irons, or does the right arm not need to be that close to the body for an iron shot? Thanks
  2. Congrats man. Gotta love the hook ups through family!
  3. Wow, thanks for all the replies. Seems that I was on the right track about the distances. I know there are a lot of variables involved with yardage. In the spring, I really hope to improve my ball striking. I am going to really concentrate on keeping track of yardages for my irons.
  4. Let's say say you can hit a 5 iron 180 yds. Is there an estimated distance of, let's say, 10 yds between each iron? If all variables were exact, could this be true? I'm asking because I don't seem to put much more distance on my 5 iron compared to my 7 iron. I kind of feel that my distances are similar from my 5 to 8 iron. I know I am not hitting pure irons shots. I am still new to the game, but was just curious. Maybe I am thinking that distances between irons are longer than they really are?
  5. Awesome. Thanks for the info. Once spring comes around, I am going to start keeping all the scorecards and get my handicap dialed in.
  6. This was my first year playing and usually shot in the mid 90's. I never kept any score cards so I can't calculate it. Does anyone know what a rough estimate would be of someone shooting in the mid 90's? I tried googling it but could not find a number, ha ha. Thanks.
  7. Ya, I would definitely say go and try and get your hands on it and putt with it. It definitely looks like the address is a lot different than the regular 2 ball mallet. The shaft styles are different. I would think though the performance between the two are similar, so I would think the deciding factor would be personal preference.
  8. So were the clubs used when you bought them from ebay? What does it mean +1/2"? Does that mean they are 1/2" taller? (Sorry still a newb to golf.) Should the clubs have not been fitted any other place other than Mizuno? I was going to say, maybe the previous owner tried fitting themself and didn't know what they were doing or possibly someone else messed up the fitment? My younger brother has x-22 knockoffs and I have real x-20's. We can not tell the difference between "feel" of the two. He is actually a better player than I am and hits the ball farther using his knock offs. I think maybe you psyched yourself out a little to much at the range. Try going back and see what happens.
  9. Rockbottomgolf.com has the black Nike SV wedges for $60. But they only offer a 56* wedge. I assume you want a 54* to match up loft sizes with your irons? http://www.rockbottomgolf.com/nike-g...eel-wedge.html
  10. I think I found the blade style putter he was talking about... It looks like the weighting might be a little different since the design is a little different. I have the srt 2 ball putter since I got a good deal on it. I like it. Here is the non srt 2 ball putter... I have the srt 2 ball like this one...
  11. Ok Ok Ok, I may be way behind on times, but I have never seen this. Made me laugh for a little while. http://topflite.com/entertainment/d2man/

    US Wins!!

This was the first year I watched it and I enjoyed it. I don't think I have watched so much golf in 4 days!! It was good to see Mickelson playing well again. O'Hair manned up today and stuck it to Els. Same with Cink. I never knew Clark was so good. He is one hell of a player.
  13. I also put my index finger like that. Mine stays on the grip though. It seems to help me keep everything aligned.
  14. Sounds cool. Looking forward to the update with pics!
  15. I had problems at first because I was swinging it like a wood. I soon realized that I should just hit it like a regular iron. After that, the club has worked out really well for me.
  16. I have the #4 07 Burner rescue. It is a 22* loft. I bought it since I do not have a 3 iron in my set. I love the rescue. It took me about two times at the range to get the feel for the club, but now I am hooked. Some people like them and some people hate them!!
  17. I will probably end up doing what you are planning OP. I might do my seven iron with a mid-size grip to see if I prefer that size grip. My friend just got jumbo grips on all his clubs and he loves it. I would say he has average sized hands as well. I think it all depends on what feels comfortable to you.
  18. Thanks for all the replies! I will put the ball back in the bag and continue to use it.
  19. There are a couple places where I live that have the virtual golf indoors. I think my friends and I are going to go there over the winter just to keep our swings somewhat in a groove. I hate the winter
  20. This putter looks pretty clean to me. I think it is going in the right direction compared to the other style of putters Nike sells.
  21. I have no idea how I got that mark on there. It could have been a tree or a wedge shot. I am usually playing all over the course, ha ha. I do know that it is permanent.

    Nike mojo ball

I played them in the beginning of the season since they were cheap and I was new to golf. Those mojo's are rock hard. I will never play those golf balls again, ha ha.
  23. Since joining this forum I have realized the importance of how the golf ball can impact your game. I used to play any kind of golf ball I could find and am now getting a little more picky My question is, should I keep playing this golf ball even though it has a little wear, or should I retire it to practice chipping? I shoot low to mid 90's so I am not that great of a golfer. I don't want to act like I am so good that a little smudge isn't good enough for my skill. Ha Ha. Just wanted to get your guys opinions. Thanks!! Zack
  24. I also use my *60 for anything close around the greens. I just feel like it slides through the rough much easier. I also use it mostly from 50 yds or closer.
  25. I tried the top-flite gamer today and did not like them as much as the top-flite d2 feel. Think I will start using the D2 feels from now on. I love how they stick to the green!!
