  1. Hi all, I've fitted shafts the stabdard way previously, but the head I just received on ebay is different to I have seen before! Any advice would be much appreciated! MrJones
  2. It's really tricky for those of us trying to find some instruction in person! Choosing a pro around me is very much picking a name out a hat. Some of those names are more expensive, and some are cheaper, but you never know what you are going to get! The best lesson I ever had was from a passing college lad who asked if he could show me some drills. It was fantastic but I never saw him again. It really is a(n expensive) minefield! Also please don't read my post and think I am bad mouthing pros as I know there are lots of excellent ones out there, it is just hard to find the right one!
  3. So I tried a golf pro to get some lessons, and one of his things was that I didn't rotate my wrists enough, and thus buying into the AJ theory. It is now making me doubt what he has said (and what to change now!).
  4. Thank you! Need some time at the range I think.
  5. Hi all, Just wanted to introduce myself! 18ish handicapper from Bristol in the Uk and looking at taking my game a little more seriously - starting by turning from a fair weather golfer to a golf regardless of weather (within reason!). Am trying to change from a lurker on the forum to a contributer! Thanks, MrJones
  6. Many thanks all! I will be (trying!) to contribute more, I'm currently more of a reader than poster, but will try my best! I will repost soon with a better angle. When people say "over the top action" what are you implying? Wrist bend or over swinging? Thanks, Oli
  7. Slow mo if that might help people: Thanks, Oli
  8. Thank you both for your very similiar responses, just one slightly quicker on the keyboard! Ah a putter, that is where I have been going wrong, I thought it was tricky towards the end of a hole. Should have said that I'm playing off 18. I have never really practiced much before, but am looking at putting some time in during the winter to see how much difference it makes. Would people suggest a new wood of a less well known brand, or a second hand more recognised brand? Thanks again!
  9. Hi all! Just thought I would say hello as new to this! After 10 years of playing with my Dad's old clubs, I decided to take the plunge and bought some clubs. I havs moved from Graphite to Steel, and bought a set of Taylormade RSI1s. I'm now trying to fill the bag, and although I know it is personal preference, what is a good balance of clubs? I have a driver, 4 - PW then a SW and a 58 degree wedge. What would you add first? I want to spread my spending out, but want to keep a balanced bag. Thanks, Oli
  10. I've been Playing Golf for: 20 years (now looking to become a little more serious) My current handicap index or average score is: Playing off 19 My typical ball flight is: Slicey The shot I hate or the "miss" I'm trying to reduce/eliminate is: I've read online many things about getting rid of the slice. The two areas that I think may be the reason I am slicing is either that my wrists are too bent at the top of my backswing or that there is not enough left hand rotation. Apologies for the wonky angle.
