Taylormade had the Aeroburner mini driver that was 253cc. The only mini driver I have owned. It was a hot beast.

I agree.

I heard from my clubmaker that the GT280 will cost around $589 / £470.

Yes I have 2* weaker loft on my irons. Because I love traditional lofts and I hit it equal distance with 36*, but with more spin.
-
I have the exact same thought after I tested a Mavrik 7 iron (27*) and hit it 22-25 yds longer carry compared to my JPX 919 Tour 7 iron (36*). After I started to think if I should get the 4 iron (18*) in Mavrik as my driving iron. Because those things was so easy to launch and swing with no effort.

Any information about these irons (Slazenger B51)
SvingIt replied to SvingIt's topic in Clubs, Grips, Shafts, Fitting
Got some information from another forum. They are the Mark 1 and came out about 1978, they were towards the top end of Slazengers's range at the time. There is a Mark 2, 3 and 4, but the design got worse for every version after Mark 1. -

Thanks for all the answers. I has booked another practice session this saturday. I will try to make a video with my swing and post it here.

They are fitted well for me. I didn't have this prob,em at the fitting. But then I didn't carry the ball 164 yds as I do now. My ball flight is good and the aim is nothing wrong with. I thinking it's a swing technique thing. I do have higher hands at impact. When I adress the club behind the ball its sits perfect on the ground. More middle of sole than toe or heel.
-
Past weekend I had a training session in GC Quad simulator at my local golf store. Took some photos of my club data. Only thing that I think stands out is the toe down with 6-10 deg at impact. First thought is that my golf shoes (Adidas Tour 360 XT with spikes) makes me stand taller over the ball compared to other golf shose I have owned. But it can't be that simple answer. Second thing is my hands are higher at impact than at adress. I don't have much of a dispersion problems. My Accuracy is fine most of the time. What can be the cause of that tow down at impact? I have attached the photos of my 7, 8, 9 and pw. Carry distance with each club for the session. i7 = 150 meter (164 yds). i8 = 139 meter (152 yds). i9 = 132 meter (144 yds). Pw = 122 meter (133 yds).

Yes I have. I wanted a club that is more of a blade but with some level of forgivness. The fitter handed me the 919 Tour as the first club to test in the fitting process. After just a few shots I said that this club is what I wanted. I di hit a few more clubs, but none of them felt as great and soft at impact like the 919 Tour. Tested a few shaft options and ended up with the KBS Tour $-taper 120 (stiff). Have played a few shafts like DG S300, S400, KBS Tour C-taper 105. All of them felt dead. KBS Tour 4-taper felt active and responsive. Could feel the load/unload in my swing. So Im very happy with my custom fitting. season 2020 will be a great season.

Yesterday's I had my second fitting at @dormygolf. This time for wedges and utility iron. Tested a few wedges like Mizuno T20, TaylorMade and Callaway MD5 Jaws. The wedges that I found fitted me best was the Callaway MD5 Jaws. Soft feel at impact and hi spin numbers. The T20 felt harsh. TaylorMade felt soft but had Lowe spin numbers. The Utility iron fittingI tested Srixon, Titleist, TaylorMade. All of them felt harsh at ball impact and heavy. The fitter put a Titleist TS3 19 deg hybrid in my hands. The feel was better but still harder then other hybrids I had gamed. It was more feel of a Spec hybrid, which I liked. Got 6 mph higher club speed compared to the Utility irons. Almost all shots was a fade. I felt like it was harder to draw with this hybrid compared to others which i liked. In the end I ended upp with this.Wedges: Callaway MD5 Jaws (51, 55, 60) with DG Tour Issue Wedge S200 shafts.Hybrid: Titleist TS3 19 deg with Hzrdus Smoke Black 6.0 80 Shaft. Before I went home I ordered my new Mizuno 919 tour irons (5-Pw) with KBS $-taper 120 (black) shafts.

Here is some more images from my Trackman report I got. I have attached the report as an PDF for you to download if you are interesting in numbers. All shots is hit with a 7 iron. The purple is the JPX 919 Tour. Last one the "7iron" is my current clubs. Wilson Staff Pi5. my_custom_fitting_svingit.pdf

The day before Christmas I did a custom fitting where I tested a few clubs. Titleist CB, Wilson Staff Model, Wilson Staff V6 and Mizuno JPX 919 Tour. My own clubs is a set of Wilson Staff Pi5. My common miss is left. Draws and pull draws. You can see how every club performed in the picture. According to the Trackman data I have an slightly out to in path. The Mizuno JPX 919 Tour (-1 deg lie) with KBS Tour $-taper 120 shaft came out as the best club for me. The fitter changed my left misses into a nice fade without me changing my swing at all. With my own clubs I struggle to hit fades. I'm going back for a second fitting at saturday. This time for wedges and a utility iron. So this is what I will get. --- Clubs: Mizuno JPX 919 Tour 5-Pw (-1 deg lie angle). Shafts: KBS Tour $-taper 120 (stiff). Grips: Golf Pride MMC Plus 4 Align.

I play a set of Macgregor MX Midsize with Macgregor Multiflex (Think thet are like DG R300) that are heavier than my KBS shafts and felt great in the swing. Got the Wilson clubs today, but can't test them before monday because they at work and I'm not today.
-
I have a set of i3-9 with Dynamic Gold S400 shafts on the way. I can't find any info about them. The seller only wrote that it is standard loft (what that now means). Only thing I can find is that Nick Faldo was involved in designing and testing them back in late 80th, and that these clubs got out on the european market only in 1989. If someone can tell more about the specs, like loft for each club it would be great. And how heavy DG S400 is compared to my current KBS Tour C-taper 105 s shafts.
-
Going to take them out for a couple of rounds. The heads looks like big shovels compared to my more spoon looking Psi irons. 😁
-
Doesn't say anything about the loft, just standard loft. What is standard loft for clubs like this? Take the 9 iron for example, I compared it side by side with my Pw (Taylormade Psi) and the loft looked the same to my eye. So I guess the 9 iron has a loft at 44-46 deg?
-
Hi, I searched on Google about a set of Macregor MX Midsize Irons that I found at my parents garage, but couldn't find any info about them. Anyone knows what loft they have. What category does the fit in? Beginners irons? The head is bigger than my Taylormade Psi, but the topline and sole is thiner.

This is my current swing. And it works well. I can pull the ball time to time. That because I have a tendency to close the club face at impact. Something I'm currently working on to fix. I've been Playing Golf for: Started back in 1998 but have played actively 10 years. My current handicap index or average score is: 11.3 (Last year I started at 7.9) My typical ball flight is: mid flight. The shot I hate or the "miss" I'm trying to reduce/eliminate is: Misses to the left time to time. Videos:
