  5. You can book a round without staying at the hotels. Often they have better green fee rates for local residents.

  14. Welcome to TST! Once you've played golf you'll always come back to it regardless of the length of the gap or age. Enjoy the journey!
  15. Nice to meet you on TST. That sounds great!
  16. Welcome to TST and to the game of golf. Enjoy the game's journey.
  17. First: Learning putting; took me from three-putting most of the holes to less than half of the holes. Second: Applying my theoretical knowledge of yardage per club into actual target practice and play, especially with L, G, P wedges. Third: Reducing my driver backswing. Lost some distance and gained more fairway percentage. Fourth: Took lessons that helped improve my swing mechanics - resulting in significant improvement of accuracy and yardage with my long irons. Putting is still my biggest weakness.
  18. Thank you for the intro; good to know!
  19. Hello I've seen a few members posting from Vegas and hope to get together some day. I live in Summerlin and my home course is Siena; it includes the membership at Arroyo. I usually play twice a week - Wednesday and on weekends. Please post here if you are interested in forming a local group or are looking for an extra player (I do not use Facebook). Looking forward meeting you all. Nave
  20. That's a great point. I started filming today and that helps a lot. Enjoy the journey to breaking par! See you on the other side of 72.
  21. Hello In my backyard I have a large hitting net and a practice matt. Because I cannot see the flight trajectory and direction as the ball hits the net, I wonder if I can at least make any sense of the bounce back: Golf ball/net response examples: - Impact and fall within the net - ... and bounce rolling straight back - ... and bounce to the right - ... and bounce to the left Would it make sense to assume that if the ball rolls back to the right, that it was probably a draw or a slice depending of how far right it bounced back? Is this borderline witchcraft to try and read a net's response as there could be too many factors and irregularities in the golf net? I am not aiming for SkyTrak level launch monitor accuracy; I am looking for feedback to estimate the general flight direction of my backyard practice. Thanks, Nave

  23. Hello and welcome to TST!
  24. UPDATE: 1. I did neither play nor practice golf for about one week and stopped thinking of golf 2. Did lot of stretching and core exercises at the gym 3. Took a lesson this Tuesday 4. Played fairly normal again yesterday Interestingly, when I hit my irons yesterday I remembered that last disaster round, and made me mishit a few shots again. After I relaxed and trusted the process, things started to get back in the right direction again. A mental game!
