  1. To those saying they shouldn't have played : Will Cam Newton play tonight? Yes. Did Pryor and the others accept $180K in gifts? Not even close. Is there a thread about his eligability? No. Did Legarrett Blount cold clock a player last year? Yes. Did the NCAA do anything about it? No, because Oregon did. When they had a chance to win a BCS game (against us) did Oregon toss him on the roster again? Yes. Did Woody Hayes get banned permanently from coaching for hitting a player? Yes. Have opinions. That's fine. Everyone is entitled to their own. I just wish that ESPN and the rest of the world would be uniform. Players accept $100K+ in gifts and get talked about for 3 weeks. OSU players sell $1500 worth of things they worked hard to earn to help their fam pay bills and it's all the rage and we should burn them at the stake. It's asinine if you take a moment to step back and look at the big picture. For those saying pryor isn't a good QB and this and that: http://stats.nj.com/cfb/players.asp?id=165589 - 2,772 passing yards for 27 td's. - 754 rushing yards for 4 td's. - 2 receiving td's. Where Pryor stands in OSU history: http://www.sbnation.com/ncaa-football/2010/12/23/1893723/terrelle-pryor-suspended-ohio-state-nfl-draft-career-stats So yes, we can all jaw bone all day about the if's and butt's, "but" remember: We're not in their shoes. We don't know them or what they have been through. We don't know their home life. Ipso facto, I wish Mark May would come to my town just so I could punch him in the mouth. That is all. Also, I don't recall saying "All FL players are thugs." but to differentiate, as someone already has, selling memorabilia to help your fam does not constitute a "thug".
  2. I wanna see Auburn win....I think. PS ~ Go Bucks! :-)
  3. Doesn't mean a thing. Everyone said OSU couldn't hang with Oregons offense last year and even after they prematurely let Blount play again we still stuffed them. ;) dr4k3: I won't be going, but I'll be watching from home. Wave to the camera. LOL!
  4. "Occasional snow"? I went to play in the Sand Hills last February in NC. The state shut done when it "snowed" over night. Less than an inch total. Called the course and the Pro said he's the only one that made it in and they shut down for the day. It had all melted by 11:00 AM. Have you ever heard of the Snow Bowl? Don't talk to us about snow. Haha. And when it's 100 there it.s .000975547% humidity. When it's 85 here it's 975,547% humidity with a heat index of over 100 degrees. Nice try though. I've been to Toledo plenty. I'd give it back. That's where the Hot Dog water smell starts. Nasty. Of course I'm willing to trade Michigan to Toledo for a horse and a bottle of maple syrup.
  5. Has Florida even been good long enough to have "raised" fans with bragging rights? LOL!
  6. Good for the Ducks. They've played/fought hard. Here's to hoping they have a great season.
  7. Actually, I have called Wisky and Iowa as being our make or break games all season. Congrats to Bucky. We didn't show up and Wisconsins D was amazing, not to mentioned Clay's ground game. Now I'm just hoping for 2 things. Another Rose Bowl victory and Boise State to get CRUSHED in the NCG.
  8. So, which undefeated will lose today?
  9. Even with that setup people will feel shunned. Oh well, I'm just gonna enjoy the game.
  10. 15 is easy. 19 is a little harder. Most conferences will have 12 games the way it's headed so for these instances let's assume a 20 game season for the NCG teams. This means, if the tourney started around the time the bowl season does, kids would be getting shipped all over the country for 1-8 weeks missing not only family holidays but who knows how much school. Say: Team A plays Team B in Atlanta on Dec 17th. Team A wins. Team C plays Team D in Madison on 12/17. Team D wins. Team E plays Team F in Dallas on 12/17. Team E wins. Team G plays Team H in Detroit on 12/17. Team H wins. Team A plays Team D in Columbus on 1/1, taking the next weeks off for the Holidays. Team A wins. Team E plays Team H in TN on 1/1. Team H wins. Team A plays Team H on 1/8 in State College, PA for the NCG. Team A wins it all. Teams A and H played 12 reg seasons games and 3 post season games b/c an 8 team playoff was decided. Sounds awesome, right? What if Team G is undef. TCU and H is undef. Boise State? Team I is a 1 loss LSU, J is a 1 loss Nebraska, K is a 1 loss Texas, L is a 1 loss South Carolina, etc. Teams I-L then campaign for a 16 team playoff system. 8 isn't good enough. The 1 loss SEC teams should have gotten a bid over TCU and so on and so forth. Nothing has been accomplished and college kids have ran all over the country while trying to maintain grades and a family life. This isn't the pro's...and I for one prefer to keep it that way. Ohio State is Team A in this scenario by the way. Why? Because I wrote it and I get to pick.
  11. If they don't both deserve it then how can you say one does over the other? That's not very solid ground you're standing on. Troof on all accounts. I'm tired of our biggest games being in our opponents backyards. Haha. The only way a playoff system would work in NCAA is shorten the regular season to 8 or less games. You have to remember that this isn't the pro's and football isn't the only thing required of the student athletes. They can't have a 14 game reg season and 4-6 post season.
  12. I'm so sorry. Always a possibility, but we weren't suppose to be able to even hang with Oregon last year either. When we won the nay-sayers were silenced and not one praised the boys for their efforts. A sign of poor sportsmanship came from across the country. We as fans are use to it. Well, if undefeated Boise deserves a shot than undefeated TCU deserves to be there with them, not a 1 loss team from any conference. SEC homerism at it's best. If you're going to take a stand for an undefeated team, regardless of how weak they are, take a stand fairly. Don't be wishy washy b/c you want and SEC team there. Neither Boise or TCU deserve a shot with their schedule, but you can't take one without the other.
  13. Asinine. If a FCS team plays 12 FBS teams and goes undefeated do they deserve to play for the FCS NCG? No. Auburn will lose also. They'll implode. I would like to see them make it but I just don't see it happening. Agreed that OSU can EASILY lose any given week, and that's coming from a born and bread Buckeye. That being said OSU has a MUCH harder schedule than TCU and Boise State, and that's saying something. The SEC Champ is not and should not be garaunteed a spot. A 1 loss SEC team WILL not go over an undefeated Oregon and/or OSU. I wouldn't mind OSU/Oregon in the NCG. I like those odds. I don't see it happening but it'd be nice. SEC has had their 15 minutes. Now let's see how their fans react when they have to start rooting for their team and not their conference.
  14. Agreed. I have to believe a 1 loss 'Bama beats out an undefeated TCU or Boise St. If Nebraska, OSU, Oregon, Oklahoma, and Auburn lose 'Bama is a contender. If any of them lose twice, obviously a 1 loss 'Bama gets the bid. As it's been said time and again, there is still a lot of football to be played. I think Auburn, Oregon, and yes, possibly even Ohio State run a good risk of losing one. Boise St and TCU can fall off the map as far as I'm concerned. Give them both the outback bowl to play each other. That'd be a pretty good game.
  15. At least the loss was early in the season. There is still a ton of football to be played and anything can happen on any given week. If 'Bama was gonna lose it's better to have lost early and get it out of the way. That goes for any team really. Things will change. Some of the undefeated teams won't remain that way. I'm nervous about the game at Camp Randall this week. Night games on the road at Wisky have been rough for us in the past. The good news is I think we can stifle their running attack. We'll find out.
  16. We'll see. Only time will tell. I'll take it for sure. Also, I'm VERY interested to see the UM fans on here after today. You barely beat Indy while they tossed up what, 500+ yards on you? How many did they put up against us? What was the UM-Indy final score and what was ours? I'd say that's about as good of a comparison as it gets. Also, what'd I say about Denard? 84 yards rushing against MSU? Please. For once I get to chant something I've heard all decade. O-VER-RATE-ED! *clap! clap! clap! clap! clap!* Happy Saturday all. PS ~ Sorry bw, but thanks for handing us 1st place.
  17. Most commentators drive me insane anymore. Herbstreit and Corso I can deal with. I even enjoy listening to Desmond Howard, although he did make OSU look ridiculous in his playing days. Mark May is insuffereable and if I ever meet him on the street I swear on all that is good and holy I'll punch him in the eye as hard as I can. I'd rather listen to Pam Ward than Mark May, and that's saying something. I'd probably hit her too...and I don't even agree with hitting women. I feel that women commentators are asking for it though. LOL!
  18. I'm glad Nebraska is back on an upswing and look forward to playing them regularly. Get ready though. From next year on all you'll hear is how slow, overrated, and fat your team is. Oh yeah! You'll also hear your coach sucks, your state/town sucks, your fans suck, and you don't deserve to be in the FBS. I mean, welcome again. :)
  19. I loved it. Welcome to the Big Ten Nebraska. :) Stats are good though. REAL good. Especially when you compare opponents. They look VERY similar on paper. As I said about Denard...time will tell.
  20. Taylor Martinez looked beast tonight. 4 rushing TD's against Kansas State (57th ranked D)? Looked great. Denard only rushed for 2 against Bowling Green (119th ranked D). Looks like Martinez should get the Heisman. LOL!
  21. You don't have to respect me or my posts. It's all opinion. I still respect yours. The difference between you, and other UM fans, and myself is I'm not running all over the world claiming supremacy from one little QB breaking off stellar 400 yard games against the worst D in the country. Yes we have faced cupcakes. Have I denied it or used it as a basis for a Pryor Heisman candidacy? No. Every UM fan I know is counting chickens before they're hatched. Also, if you read ALL of my posts, I said that perhaps Denard will surprise me. I just haven't been wowed yet. My arguement has never been "we're better than you/Denard b/c we're playing hard teams." My point is simply don't raise the victory flag when last season started 4-0 also. If UM goes undefeated, which I personally don't see happening, then Denard deserves the Heisman. Same with OSU/Pryor and 'Bama/Ingram though. Only time will tell. Actually I've watched most of every game. I am a CFB fanatic. I will watch Troy vs. Tulane if it's the only game one. Again, all I said is he eyes his receivers, THEY make long runs, and I never said we've faced 3 better rushers this season . We sure as hell have in the past though. It's too early for me to call Denard the next VY or Tebow, but AGAIN, he may surprise me. I'm not hopping on his bandwagon just yet though. Agreed. Again, where did I say my team faced tougher teams than yours? Our OOC schedule is harder, but my point has NEVER been OSU vs. UM seasons. It is simply, "Let's not enshrine Robinson just yet." For your info I've long said the same about Pryor. It's ok to not respect what I say. Most people hate having the truth served to them. Same with the FL fan on here a few pages back. As a Buckeye I hear it all the time, but I'll be the first to admit we play cupcakes (who doesn't?), we have been over matched (even if we deserved to be in the game), and that we are possibly THE most hated school/team in the country. Although I'm a fan I'm also a realist.
  22. Michigan also has a pathetic offense. Look back a few posts (please don't make me repost it) to where I did a study of the D's they have played. Better D's will slow Denard down and since Denard is the sole contributor, once he is neutralized they will go the way of Florida - Tebow. Pretty good offense, but not great. Denard doesn't follow his reads and eyes his receivers. His dump passes that his WR's turn into big yards are inlating his stats. I hope he gets punched in the mouth (not literally of course) by the stronger D's he's about to face. Let him try to tuck it and run every time his first read is covered against us. We've stopped MUCH better rushers than him.
  23. We weren't clicking today at all today. Not surprised. Illinois played tough D also. Denard Robinson is a stellar RB.
  24. Nah. He would've tried to make Mallett run his offense. It's all good. I don't mind. It's been a great decade for me.
