  1. Yeah, why did Kaymer change his swing? Can't understand why you would change your swing when you have a winning concept... Any ideas?
  2. If Stenson really has found his way back from his high 70s to 80 scores then I think he will win it. I only saw the last couples of holes but his 275 yard shot to the 18th green that landed 2 yards from the flag was insane.
  3. I don't feel that sorry for him (not for the penalty atleast). I feel a bit sorry for Karlsson that it looks in the media like Poulter gave the victory away. When in fact Karlsson won that hole by two and the penalty didn't change the outcome. Karlsson was one of the best players in the world 2008 (also won the "order of merit" as europes best player that year). After that, he lost all 2009 season to an eye injury and has been sick for almost the whole 2010 becuse of glandular fever. That´s bad luck! Will be interesting to see what he can do in 2011 if he gets to stay healthy. I don't see why the ruling should or could be changed either. The pin is the ball. Had he accidentally moved his ball instead, no one would have objected.
  4. Stensons last hole was kind of funny. 270 yards from tee, and then he shoots 305 yards from fairway and makes the eagle putt. He didn't use driver a single time and he was -5 for the four par 5s (is at -3 total). Think this could be an interesting week again for Stenson.
  5. Sure, the ball doesn't get alot of roll in the LD events, however the length in all is different as they play with LD balls that produce less spin etc and fly further. There is also a difference when it comes to club head speed as LD guys use longer shafts = higher club head speed. They have restricted the length of the shafts in LD events since the shaft were over 60" etc earlier, but you are still allowed to use 50" shafts. As for 150mph, thats the highest meassured numbers and they don't really get that high (anymore). Also, as you pointed out.. that's when they swing out of theire shoes which Stenson and the boys never do. Tiger says he swings his irons at 80% and his driver not so much harder. Furthermore Sadlowski isn't really the Tiger of LD since he only has won one RE/MAX title.
  6. Some americans are very biased in this discussion. Nothing strange with that as most probably are towards theire own coutrymen. However... People who say Babe Ruth is the biggest star... needs to rethink. Baseball is almost only an american sport. Ali, Jordan, Tiger are americans everyone knows. Personally I'd probably vote between Pele, Maradona & Jordan as they played in the biggest sports. "Best" rather then "biggest" athlete ever is a different story though...
  7. I just think it's interesting with the long drivers out there who compare themselves with the tour players when it comes to long driving. They say they hit 100 yards further then Tiger etc.. So how come Stenson has the world record on hiting a drive on a runway? He has only participated in such a tournament once!(probably not with a 50" driver) The RE/MAX guys regularly compete in events taking place on runways.. The thing is.. A guy like Tiger hits his driver at 80% (he says so himself anyway).. A long driver hit it at 100% and sometimes with a 50" driver. You should expect the long drivers to hit it further since thats all they practise, but I don't think they do.. Not further then Stenson, Quiros anyway. Real golf is on such higher level then RE/MAX, and I really think that driving tips from longdrivers hurt "real golfer" more then it helps them.
  8. Henrik Stenson could compete in longdriving if he wanted. He has one time.. And he set the world record hitting the longest shot ever meassured on a runway, 721 yards and beating world long drive champion Paul Slater in the competition. This can also be compared to Jason Zubacks longest ever "runway shot" of 714.1 yards. Adam Scott has also been quoted: "He hit probably the longest drive I've ever seen in my life. Retief and I both hit and we figured we were about 340 yards off the tee. Stenson must have flown us by 60 yards. His ball went 460 yards in all." People always talk about Bubba Watson, JB Holmes, A Quiros. However, I belive that if Stenson cared about ripping it or even use his driver (he almost always use 3-wood) he'd been in top of that statistics. It also show that the longest hitting tour players would have a chance to compete in long drive. What do you tihink?
  9. Did it work for you? As in increased distance? Also, anyone got a good article explaining the v gap?
  10. Well Tom Watson almost won the open this year... And i doubt he's better today then 30 years ago :=) so really proves that a lot of the old times big would be as good or even better then most on the pga tour today.
  11. Jack is the greatest, however it's very likely that he won't be in a couple of years. It's a good thing Tiger has that record 18 majors to chase though or he would run out of challanges.
