  1. Well it has a cool little cup on it to pick the ball up with......
  2. I remember when my White Hot 2 Ball first came out it was considered extreme. It is very mild now to today's UFO designs. How can one not be distracted using these things?
  3. I am sure the Ping G10's are some great sticks, but I just can't get over that orange color......ugh.....and the Rapture's are even worse. I think I might be leaning more towards going back to the R7's unless I can be convinced that there is something better.
  4. Thanks for all the input thus far. You know, just getting me another set of R7's is not a bad idea, since I really liked those irons. I guess I was thinking about getting the latest, but I will definately consider going back to the R7's. The Burner's kind of concern me with the extra length since I am short at 5'8". Inside 9i or PW distance is really not a problem for me because I am good at and really like the 3/4 and 1/2 swing shot. Heck, I used my rescue for 135 to 180 yard shots in my last round and scored an 81 (lil' luck involved of course).
  5. I just got back in the game after a long layoff. I was a 10 hdcp when I quit (was taking the game way to serious) and sold all my clubs with the exception of my putter. I started playing again almost 2 months ago when I bought some used clubs. The first thing that needs to go are the irons. I am sure the Ping i3's were great in their day, but I need some newer technology. I used to play TM R7's and I was able to hit a 7 iron 160 to 165 yards consistently. With this old Ping set, I am having trouble with my ball striking and even when I think I hit it well, I am having trouble getting the 7 iron to go 140. I need an iron that will help me use less club for my approach shots and par 3's. My last round I was using my Rescue for any shot from 180 to 135 because I have zero confidence with these i3's. Believe it or not, the results were pretty good lol. I need to get a "game improvement" set as I do not have much time to practice. I hate the range anyway.....would rather play.... . I have narrowed it down to 3 choices. 1. Cobra S9 2. Taylormade Burner 3. Ping G15 I have demoed these clubs off a mat into a net at Golfsmith, but that has not helped me make a choice. The Cobra's are the cheapest and seem to be a good solid club. I have a Cobra driver and it has been the best one I have ever owned. The PING's are the most expensive , but felt awesome. The Burner's feel good too and are in the middle price range wise. I didn't have any trouble getting any of them up in the air. Anyone who has any experience with playing these irons mentioned and could give me some input would truly be appreciated. Thanks
  6. Just registered today after finding some good reading on this forum. I started golfing about 5 years ago and just got back into the game after about a year and a half layoff. Quit the game with a 10 hdcp and have not established a new one yet. Coming back was difficult (scores close to 100)but fun since I am not taking the game too serious like I used to. It paid off on my last round when I posted an 81 with 4 birdies. If it wadn't for a snowman on a blowup hole, I'd been in the 70's, which I have only done a few times when I was playing multiple times per week. Anyway, glad to have found this site and be back in the game. Have fun and hit em' long and straight all.
  7. I'll be 36 next week. Took up the game when I was 30.
  8. Like the OP......my strongest is putting as well. I love the green, though getting there can be a challenge at times.....lol. The oldest club I have is my putter. My White Hot 2 Ball Blade has been in the bag since I took up the game. During my year+ layoff I sold all my clubs with the exception of this one.
  9. I just registered on the forum and just started playing again after over a 1 year layoff. I started golfing in 2004 and really got hooked. Then I was just taking the game way too seriously and burned myself out. I was a 10 hdcp when I quit and sold my clubs. I bought myself some cheap used clubs and went out again a couple of months ago and the return was brutal to say the least. Shot close to 100 the first few rounds. Last week things started coming back as I shot an 81 with 4 birdies in the round. YEAH!!!! Now I am hooked again. Need to upgrade my irons for sure. Got some old Ping I3's and they just do not perform like my R7's did. Need some newer tech irons.
