  1. first birdie was my first time on a course. i remember being extremely nervous the whole day and had almost hit someone walking off the green on the first hole. i actually don't remember the details except that i was able to drive the green on a par 4, must of been short. this was back when i was gripping and ripping it and got lucky. get up to the green, up to this day i've never even practiced putting besides mini golf. was able to 2 putt luckily. thinking back on it, probably should of saved that ball.
  2. i guess in response to this... i hit a hole in one at a par 3 course, so i'm not sure how legit, people see that as. 145 yards, 8 iron, 10 feet of elevation over a pond that is about 25 yards long in front of the box. Back Nine Club, Lakeville, MA. hole #14 this was the weekend before thanksgiving and a spontaneous idea between my friend and i to go play. i borrow a set of clubs from my buddy's dad, go buy a glove at the pro shop, don't even have my golf shoes. all through the day i'm hitting fairly decent by my standards, mostly bogeys with some pars. come up to this hole, cigarette in the mouth, thin the tee shot, barely clear the pond by 5 feet. i'm thinking at least it didn't drop in, the ball is rolling up the fairway and next thought is it might just make the green. ball is now on the green and i'm fairly happy with the outcome. buddy and i see the ball catch a slight slope and is going towards the pin, in my mind i actually thought it had a chance to drop, and bam, we hear the ping of the flag and the ball disappears. sure it was an ugly ugly shot, but imagine the feeling of hitting an amazing shot 2 inches from the hole, and multiply that by 50. that's what it was like. whether you bought that scratch ticket and won 1million or found it in the trash, you still won 1 million dollars. on that note, it doesn't feel like a legit hole in one, and i hope if i hit another it'll have a more typical ball flight and i won't be as surprised. can't take away that feeling though.
