  1. This too serious guy just pissed my off so I just asked them four questions and nothing else. I really wanted to ask lets play a couple dollars a hole, so he can pay to watch me play. I appreciate everyone feedback...
  2. Hello I was reminiscing about a quick nine I was playing just for fun and I was paired up with a guy I thought was too serious. He did not say a word to me from the beginning to the end. He shook my hand and we exchanged names on the first tee box and thats it. When I was on the tee box I usually stand to the side but on the first tee box he wanted me to move further off the tee box which I totally abide. On the fairway I usually just take practice swings until you begin your pre-shot routine but I had to not move an inch while he was contemplating which club to use before he began his pre-shoot routine which I thought was odd and too long of a wait so I just stayed in the cart. This guy was so focus he was thinking about his next shot while in the car. He was totally quite. After about 4 holes of slow play, I got mad b/c this was suppose to be a quick nine for me so I asked him the following: Question 1: - Moving forward, where do you want me to stand on the tee box? His Response: off the tee box and don't move Question 2: Moving forward, where do you want me to stand on the fairway? His Response: no where in my site and just don't move Question 3: Where do you want me to stand on the green? His Response: no where in my site and just don't move And Finally, I ask Where you want the crowd to stand if you make the tour? His Response: I don't care if your paying to watch me I believe I was wrong for asking the questions and vowel never to act impatient again b/c everybody plays the game differently. I'm serious when I play and my only rule is to be still and quite when I'm swinging. What are your rules when your playing a round?
  3. I live in the Delaware County area, outside of Philly near Delaware and below are a couple of private courses that are interesting. They have this executive membership for the 25 - 35 age group which is around 2.5K - 3K. The club that really impress me is Dupont, it has three courses. www.pennoaksgolfclub.com www.brandywinecountryclub.net www.dupontcountryclub.com
  4. Yeah.. I can imagine it being very expensive in NY. I'm in the Philly area very close to Delaware so the prices start at 2.5K and thats just the initiation fee, for some reason they all are hurting for members. So now is the time to try to get in at a low cost. It probably cost alot for a round of golf in NY, I played the Beth Page Black Course last year and it cost my $120.
  5. I appreciate everybody's feedback and I encourage more as I'm planning to make a decision very soon. Allow me to share some other reasons for membership. Last year, I purchased a package at a local public course that gave me unlimited use of the golf range and a $10 green and cart fee at 2 hours before sunset. I had the ability to practice as much as I wanted (at no cost) as well as go out on the course and play my favorite holes (for $10) or just hit driver off each hole for practice (for $10). I really enjoyed that package and my game began to really improve without the high dollar cost. However, my issue was many times I wanted to play my favorite holes or just hit drivers in the morning ( @$65) or afternoon (@ $45) instead of waiting until 4pm or later depending or when the sunset. So this year I began to start thinking about membership. If I want to play 3,9 or 18 holes I don't want to worry about the cost I just want the club house to through me the cart key and tell me to go have fun. Please note: the course was wide open during the times I wanted to just have fun. In option 2, the private club has that cart fee that is making me look at other private courses in the area, however my question is stil the same, would you join three alright courses for the prices of one difficult course. Thanks in advance.
  6. In my area, all the price points for a round of golf including cart fees vary between $45 - $65. The three public courses in option 1# cost $45 on the weekend and $35 on a weekday. Golf season is basically from March - October and I play on average 3 to 4 times a week. So at 32 weeks in the golf season and 3 times per weeks is 96 rounds of golf. Now 96 rounds at the minimun $45 is about $4,320. Also, I like to practice so you can only imagine the additional cost for range balls at $11 a large bucket and I practice about 5 times a week. The cost per round for non-members in option #2 is $80 and you need to be invited. Big_M you make a valid point for your location but I thinks its expensive in my area thats why I looking for a membership.
  7. Hello I'm interested in being a member at a country club but I'm stuck between these two options: 1) $3K at a local Public course which includes unlimted golf range and no cart fees. Also it includes the same privilege at two other public courses. All three course are OK but not very challenging. 2) $2.5K at a private course and $80 per month for food mininum. It does not include cart fee so I will have to pay a $22 cart fee for ever round. However the course is very challenging. I personally hate having to have money everytime I want to play golf so the membership is good but is playing very easy courses worth it. Your thoughts.. Would you join three alright courses for the prices of one difficult course.
  8. I updated my signature and I want to make a correction, my driver is a 905s. My swing speed on average is 105 and my distance is 230. I've been hitting lots of high fades with this driver. I'm looking to increase my distance to 260 - 280.
  9. There is a dent or a chip at the bottom also there are nicks from topping the ball on the club head. Once again I bought it used. Do you think that will have an impact on distance?
  10. I purchased a used 10.5 Pro Titanium 905R driver then after researched I had the shaft changed on the 10.5 driver to a ALDILA NV. Now I like the combination but I believe I need a new 10.5 club head. What are the signed that it's time for a new club head? and will it make a difference in my distance. Thanks in advance
  11. I seen in one of these forums the following questions which I thought was very interesting and help me research a good shaft. I hope it can do the same for you. 1.What is my tempo: fast, medium, slow 2.What is the length of my swing arg: long, medium, short 3.What is my transition at the top: pause at the top, or smooth? 4.Where do I release my wrist cock, early, middle, late 5.What is my swing speed, launch angle and spin rate? 6.What head do I plan on putting the shaft into? My answers at that time using a Fujikura Speeader Fairway for Titleist Stiff Shaft with a Pro Titanium 905R 8.5 club head were 1.medium 2.short 3.pause, strong move to the ball 4.middle 5.(98 – 106), (16.2 – 18.6),(39K – 42K) I now play a ALDILA NV Stiff shaft with a Pro Titanium 905R 10.5
  12. I just purchease the Cleveland's CG7 Tour Black Pearl irons ( 4- PW) and I have no complaints at this point. Maybe after a couple more rounds I can give you some more feedback but after my two rounds of golf with them I've been please.
  13. I was playing a 8.5 Titiest 905R and after being setup on the launch monitor, the recommendation was to go to a 10.5 degree to decrease my the ball spin(4K) and my launch angle (16). My launch angle now is around 13 and the ball spin is in the low 3K. This change is suppose to give me additional rolls at the end of my drive. BTW - my club speed is 105 My goal is to get my ball spin down in 2K and to increase my club speed to 110. I'm trying to figure out the best to get there.
  14. the frogger towel works great for me. the inside stay wet throughout the whole round. i sometimes use the frogger brush doing the round. i just need something convenient to clean my ball before i putt
  15. i cut my stiff speeder shaft to 44 inches..my trajectory is very high. thinking about changing my shaft to one with a high flex point(kickpoint) any recommendations?
