  1. i know this is an old thread but i figure i would chime in for future "search" reasons.... I have been using the Pure Spin SW for 8 years and I LOVE it...Like it so much that I have added another 2 PS wedges in my bag... they are not really a "gimmick" ..People like to say they are a gimmick club because of their infomercials.... But they forget that golf infomercials were unheard of when these came out...Pure Spin pretty much kick started the golf gear informercials. Anyway, I can give you some input from someone that is STILL using these wedges today...If you buy them cause you see the pro backspin the ball in the commercial and you think your gonna do it without the proper technique, then you are foolish and only kidding yourself..... But If your looking for a REALLY good set of wedges for under $60, these are GREAT!! These might not create the back spin like the commercial shows, but with a good Callaway or titliest ball it will stop the ball on the green everytime!! They are perfectly legal an in my personal opinion, these are worth every penny they cost.
  2. In my personal opinion, If your looking for a hybrid set of clubs, for $300 you could buy a set of barely used Adams clubs , like the AOS 3, AOS4 or AOS7 for that price and you will be very pleased... I found my set , like new on Ebay and won the auction for $189.00 .. When I got them I hated the 3,4,5 cause they were too big and I sold them back on ebay for $80. ..So I ended up paying $109 for the Adams 6-pw... It has been the best hundred bucks i ever spent... I recommend going to your local golf store and hitting a few different clubs to see what you like....If you have a Dick's Sporting Goods anywhere near you, go and check out the line of Adams
  3. I have a Mizuno T.P. Mills putter that i have been using off & on for many years but i find that I always put better with putters that have the double bend shaft...So rather than buy a new putter again, I though it would be a great idea just to buy a double bend shaft for my putter. Unfortunately the guy that does my club work has told me that the original shaft is flared at the tip and the one on the new shaft i bought is not (he was correct , i can clearly see that).. My question is this... Do they make a a double bend shaft that is "flared" so I can put it on my Mizuno?? My club maker says no, I'm just looking for a second opinion. With all the new tecnology and designs, I find it odd that they dont make it possible to change the shaft on a putter to something different. Any input would be appreciated...thanks! Pete
  4. That's a nice looking grip..especially for $3.00 ...
  5. Well, I finally scored a great deal on a FT-IQ Tour with a Mitsubishi Rayon Fubuki 63xct stiff shaft.... I had been waiting and waiting to see if i could find a deal on the Imix but i got this one for $65.00 so i couldn't pass it up. Can't wait to try this bad boy out. Thanks for all the input guys
  6. How bout you up that insurance policy and then kill the bitch.... take the insurance money and not only buy new clubs, but go on a week long golf resort vacation........did i just say that out loud????
  7. would you guys recommend the imix version, since shafts are readily available on ebay?? sounds like a pretty cool idea to let the consumer actually swap out shafts
  8. how bout something like.... " man i really need a new set of clubs... think i'm gonna put mine up for sale to help pay for a new set"
  9. Awesome! Thanks for the answer.. so I am correct in choosing the FT-IQ because i am looking for a more "forgiving" driver...I really like the sqare head and hit the Nike 5900 REALLY well, but I can't bring myself to buy Nike clubs...not really sure why, but i just don't want to buy Nike and everyone has been telling me the FT-IQ is a GREAT cllub
  10. well, this is not really answering my question..LOL... but how much and what is the difference in the Tour opposed to the regular FT-IQ??
  11. I am looking at the Callaway Ft-IQ but I have noticed that there are many versions of the FT .. there is the FT-IQ , FT-5 , FT-9 , FT-IZ is there a really big difference from the IQ from the others or is the IQ just the "most forgiving" ?? You'll have to forgive me if this is a dumb or worn out question, but I haven't bought anything Callaway in over 8 years , so I don't know to much about their line of clubs... I just know that the FT-IQ is comparable to the Nike Sumo 5900 as far as forgiveness
  12. Nah, I cut 2" off my Mizuno T.P. Mills and it wasn't that bad at all...Actually has made the putter just perfect.. I been trying out a bettinardi but i think i'm going back to the T.P.M
  13. Is anyone using a Callaway upro go gps??? I can possibly pick one up slightly used for $50 and wanted some user feedback instead of online reviews.. right now i use my Droid phone, but the little Callaway unit looks pretty nice and I wouldnt have to worry about draining my phone battery.
  14. I cut down my Mizuno T.P. Mills 2 years ago and the old guy that does my grips had this grip there that made me chuckle and i put it on as a joke and it ended up being my favorite putter grip to date.... it's called Neverbend and has a suction cup on top of the grip so you can just flip your club upside down and grab your ball out of the hole without bending down..LOL.. we call it the lazy man's grip... but look, forget about the stupid suction cup, the grip its self is AWESOME, it's extremely soft and provides great feel (at least for me) I would put another one on in a heatbeat... My friends still joke about the suction cup and every once in a while i still pop the ball out with it to get a laugh, but if your looking for a good grip, don't leave the Neverbend out... I paid $12 for it and honestly it's worth every penny. Rockbottomgolf has them for $9.99 http://www.rockbottomgolf.com/neverb...AID=476075251#
