i personally don't like hybrids much at all, myself and many of my buddies agree that they have a noticeable tendency to go left (right for you strange lefties), not sure why but its been rather apparent to me since day one. I won't deny that a well struck shot feels great though, i've had a brief affair with my 17* again since replacing the shaft with KBS's steal rifled shaft and chopping it down. they come off the face hot and are easier to put on the ball in the rough, but with distance and hit-ability not an issue i'm going to drop it and make my 3 iron a couple degrees strong and add a wedge.

love shortening clubs, if it hasn't already been made clear by the other tall and lower cap players who have gone down to 44 and less, yes it is a good idea for almost everyone. I'm 6'4 and have it chopped to 44 as well, no need for much more, hurts more than it helps.

seriously no one has mentioned the ping redwoods series? 250 msrp, had new on ebay for around 170, used depending on condtition from 80-130. excellent weight, the zb is my favorite and most recent addition, great feel and sound, very responsive. Best alternative to the scotty with many of the same major styles and equivalent milling and overall quality.
