Hey everyone. Recently all my friends have been going golfing a lot more now that we are in college. Feeling a little curious i went to the driving range with them and had an excellent time. From there i've started taking lessons with the pro at our local course because i felt that i should learn it (golf) right rather than develop tons of bad habits.
On that note...I have been taking lessons once a week for two months so far (8). I am getting fitted for clubs and I tried the Cleveland Launchers, Cleveland (the black ones CG-7?), Mizuno MX-300, AP1, AP2, Ping G15, and TaylorM Burners.
I honestly hit better and felt better with the AP2 and the MX-300....with the MX-300 above the Ap2. These are both irons that i believe are above my skill level...however i hope to get their with practice.
My question after all of this would be: Is it wise to get ones that I'm hitting well with that i will grow into over the year rather than getting an extremely forgiving Ping G15?
I probably hit 8/10 shots well now but obviously hope to get better. It is when i did hit them well it was more often and felt better with the MX-300.
The feel of the forged Mizunos were phenominal. I love the thinner look of the top and the little to no offset. I also hit OK with the G15 but the feel was subpar and dislike the offset along with the thick soles.
All thoughts and rambles welcome! Thanks-
David
