I was on a golf team in high school and had a great coach who i still play with a few times a year. He wasnt pushy on changing our swings he just wanted us to know what shots we had and what we didnt. But there was a few things he did that made us a great team.
1. Our format is a foursome with 2 from each team. He encouraged us to help each other out on the course, i.e. reading greens, wind, yardage, and such.
2. He knew our families. The first weekend of the season we have a saturday get together where each player brought a family member to play, and he would hop around the course to meet everyone and play a hole or 2 so the relations are always good with family members of the players.
3. Make it fun, have a day when you do something cool and enjoyable, like match play where if you win a hole you take a club from the other players bag.
Hey it works, 3 NYS state championships in the past 10 years.
