  1. The most well known course ive played on is The Majlis in Dubai home of the dubai desert classic. When i was in the Navy we made a port visit in dubai and the USO made a deal for some of us to play on the course for $300, which included Ping clubs, caddie, breakfast, lunch and all the necessities. I was simply amazed on how that course was manicured perfectly in the middle of a desert.
  2. I agree, there is no more heart, determination, or pure balls in any other postseason than NHL playoffs.
  3. I was on a golf team in high school and had a great coach who i still play with a few times a year. He wasnt pushy on changing our swings he just wanted us to know what shots we had and what we didnt. But there was a few things he did that made us a great team. 1. Our format is a foursome with 2 from each team. He encouraged us to help each other out on the course, i.e. reading greens, wind, yardage, and such. 2. He knew our families. The first weekend of the season we have a saturday get together where each player brought a family member to play, and he would hop around the course to meet everyone and play a hole or 2 so the relations are always good with family members of the players. 3. Make it fun, have a day when you do something cool and enjoyable, like match play where if you win a hole you take a club from the other players bag. Hey it works, 3 NYS state championships in the past 10 years.
  4. i always go halfway with my driver (callaway big bertha 460 10 degrees) unless im going into the wind ill tee it low to keep it low.
  5. Completely self taught, when i was in the navy a buddy of mine was a golf freak of nature and noticed small things i should correct in my swing. But other than that no real lesson, even when i played high school golf, so about 10 years of golf no lessons, and a very long arcing swing for good distance from the tee.
  6. Im a union pipefitter. So when im laid off and not working im golfing, and when im working im not golfing, wishing i was golfing.
  7. I generally drive 275-290, depending on weather and course conditions, with a natural fade that ive decided to not try and cure but just use it to my advantage. But the hard thing for me is i also play Softball and Hockey, so between the hip turn on my softball swing, and the right hand release on a slapshot in hockey i tend to get in a little bit of trouble with accuracy. Then it comes down to confidence in my irons.
