I have a problem with Keeping my head still during my golf swing. It is stable until the start of the downswing and drop about 4-5 inches until impact and then it pops back up. I hit the ball pretty far I'm 145 5 7" and I hit my 8 iron 155. My swing is on plane,i dont bring th club past parallel and the rest of my mechanics are pretty solid. Is this something I should fix? Would I lose/gain any distance if I fixed this. Could this be a problem with my posture? Thanks. And I can upload a video of my swing of necessary

There are some pretty cheap grip kits on Ebay that come with 13 grips, grip tape, solvent and something to put the club in place. Has anyone ever used these? Are they easy to put on? How long does it take? Is it even worth it? Feedback would be greatly appreciated.

A couple of questions about my irons.
Cali replied to Jaxn45's topic in Clubs, Grips, Shafts, Fitting
my driver speed is around 115, and s300 fit me well so i don't think you would need to go all the way up to x100s. Your better of getting fitted -
thanks. by the way what do you think of the 710 cb's because I'm looking at those also, lol. Those are my next choice

I'm currently using the titleist 804.os 3-pw, but I plan on switching to the callaway x forged (09') during the winter. Im fine with losing some forgiviness, but how much? Maybe somone has played both, I'm just curious. There fairly similair clubs, and I have heard that the x-forged's are reaaly forgiving so we'll see. http://www.google.com/images?um=1&hl...;=&oq;=&gs;_rfai= http://www.google.com/images?um=1&hl...;=&oq;=&gs;_rfai= thanks guys

the ft-9 tour is slightly open, lower lofts avalibale, a and a little heavier head that keeps the ball a little lower

I have heard a bunch of different things about the rifle scale vs. the regular dg scale. I am currently using dg r300's and I was trying a 5.5 rifle x forged 6 iron and It felt only a little bit stiffer, so I wondering if this was right or not.

Swing is flat, but you do a good job of keeping it on the same line all the way through. Your posture needs a little work, check out ben hogans book it has a great guide and that kinda stuff

This video was taken about 5 hours after a recent lesson. The teaching pro wasn't great, considering I was able to book him for a time only a day in advance, but he did get me going in the right direction. After about 1-2 hours of looking over footage and correcting myself, these were two of the better shots I came up with. I know I still have a lot of work, i still have a slight hitch and my head moves a little too much, but I'll keep self-correcting myself and hopefully keep posting videos. Both were with a 7 iron

try this. take your 3 longest clubs out of your bag and play from the shortest tees at your course

a punch-fade 3 iron under a tree with 5 feet of leeway and 30 yards in front of me to 20 feet.

i played terrible in the tournament, shot 87, but I was a good 87 considering i lipped out on 6 putts from within 5 feet because the cups were beat up. I just got back from a lesson i got, and I'll post a video later. I'm definently starting to make progress so well see

the reason i have a hitch in my swing is because i'm self-taught. and i'm actually a pretty good iron player I average about 10-11 greens in reg. THIS is hilarious, because your both wrong, by alot. Btw, your using blades, buut your a 15 handicap? yea...

Ok guys. I was playing really well until a couple of days ago. My mis hits are are thin/fat pushes. I honestly dont know what the problem is. I hit 300 balls on the range, took a bunch of video, played 18 and it hasn't gotten any better. ITt's urgent because I have a tourny tomorrow and I'm willling to try just about anything so comment away..please. i'm gonna hit the range in the morning alot before. The guality is bad and i know i took my dtl behind a door, but it doesn't open so it was the best i could do. They were taken with a 7 iron. Please help me out with this thanks guys i know i come from the inside in my backswing, but i played great golf before that with that same in- and over the top kind of swing. i know im doing that wrong but i dont think thats the problem....for now. for whatever reason i cant get a facing view please help me on this thanks guys

First off, I'm sorry I used the words 'players irons' in referring to an iron designed for the better player/tour professional. I didn't realize you had such a hate for the term. MY BAD. Second off, I was looking for a starting point, and we both know I wouldn't have chosen my irons solely off this thread. Also, I said that the blades and 'tour' irons, do not have the same correlation between price and release date, as do 'game improvement' irons do. And why is it that everyone else's opinions are wrong because they're not, well, you.

mp 58, tm rac tp smoke blades, 710 mb's 695's

i use an oversized blade, which is basically a blade with a little more height from bottom of the face to the top, a more rounded topline, and a larger cavity. forged also

thanks guys, the only problem with this is that I would DEFINENTLY wanna try them out b4 i buy them, which is a problem with the older irons unless i get lucky and there in the used section in golf galaxy. thanks though, keep makin suggestions

Next year I will be in the market for some players irons. I am not interested in getting the 'Newest" irons that come out, because i'm paying for them myself (im only 15) But I know that there hasn't been much advancement in tour irons throughout the years. meaning the best your irons are probably not gonna be the most expensive I will make a poll if i get enough suggestions for certain irons. Thanks guys
