I agree, give it a shot. What's the worst that can happen? A little embarrassment? Learn from it and move on. Most people on the course will help you out if you have any questions. Once you start playing, you'll feel a little more comfortable about it. Good luck!

Funny story, Jack. It happens to all of us though. We always want to strive for that Eagle but in the end should have probably settled for par. I figure it's always better to keep to the fairways and play the simple shot. A lot less stress at the end of the day.

Wow. That's great. I normally find that I do better after a brief layoff. It's always nice to just "reboot" as you say. Great job!

28, just starting to play seriously for the first time. I'd always dabbled on and off, but now it's time to get serious so I can one day play Pebble Beach and not embarrass myself :)
