I was just wondering if on your tee shot off a par 3 if you always, sometimes, or never use a tee. Depending on the length of the grass I will hit it off the ground with my shorter irons (7 iron or less.)

I like watching the US Open the most of any of the majors unless the greens are shaved to the point that the are unplayable. Narrow fairways, high rough, and deep bunkers are part of golf. What I don't agree with is some of the little "hills" in the middle of the fairways at some of the British Open courses that just shoot the ball off the fairway after a player has split the middle with his drive.

Just curious. Do you buy new clubs or used ones from places such as craigslist, ebay etc. I've always been of the opinion that todays $400 hot driver is a $200 bargain a year from now.

I have played in several Wednesday PGA Tour pro ams and one Senior Tour pro am and can honestly say that those guys are at another level that I could never reach. Many people have the physical skills and game to compete, but it is the mental aspect that keeps a player on tour.

I was paired with a guy on the last day of our club championship a few years ago that plumb bobbed off the tee on par threes. He was serious, and never once hit the green.

I play a G10 9* with a UST mid launch shaft that has the ball flight of any other 10.5* that I have ever hit. With the same shaft and launch point, it stands to reason that a 7.5* should give you the same ball flight as a 9* with the same shaft specs.
