Best I have hit so far is Wilson DX-2 soft. It has the best combination of straightness, distance and green side control as well. If I am on a bad day I will stay with MaxFli Revolution low compression balls. My golf buddy at 18-cap stays with Bridgestone e6+ and he never wants to change.

Congrats! Always a mental block to get the first one. More will follow! Have just got my first birdie as well last weekend, after about a year of playing. Was on a 159 yards par 3, tee off with 6 iron a bit over and about 8 feet left of the hole. Most important this time I did not even think about a birdie. Was in the rain and downhill, made it even more memorable. Before this one I missed so many birdie chances including an embarrassing one from less than a foot, putt shorted, and quite a number of chances 2-3 feet. Nevers played a part.
