  1. Thanks for the replies everyone. I don't think my irons are going anywhere until I have a valid reason to do so. It's easy to get caught up in buying new equipment and such. But I will keep demoing clubs to see if anything presents itself with a better opportunity.
  2. I've got the Hogan Apex Edge Pro's and have flirted with the idea of getting new clubs. No particular reason other than perhaps the urge to buy newer clubs. I know it's not a good reason, but it is what it is. Anyway, I demoed some clubs (MP-60 and MP-67, 735CM's, 755's, Nike Blades) at the range (only the mizunos were at the range; the rest in a golf shop) a week ago and they both felt really nice. Then I hit my Hogans and they felt just as nice. Distance wise, there wasn't much difference. I know I should hit more clubs at the range to get a better feel, but essentially, my Hogans felt just as good as any of them and my control was right in line as well. I'm curious to hear from those that have upgraded from Hogans. What was the selling point? What did you find was better with the clubs you eventually moved to? Now I have my eyes on the X Forged. Those are nice!
  3. I've got the Sophia as well. While I have only played one round with it (on very hard greens due to the winter), I could immediately tell the weighting and feel was right for me. It sets up nice and overall just feels great.
  4. I've heard many a good thing about Yes! putters. I tried one at an indoor facility about a year ago, but never purchased it because I wasn't necessarily in the market for a putter. I really liked the feel though. Now that I am in the market, I will almost certainly be looking at Yes! putters. Probably the Sophia. Provided the looks are as stylish and classic as in the photos and provided the feel is there, I will pull the trigger. I tried the Odyssey #9, which is the equivalent to the Sophia in terms of style, but there was something about it that I didn't like. It looked like a toy. But it felt decent. Anyway, just an opinion.
  5. More Fairways: This is crucial in setting up a decent approach especially on longer holes. More GIR's: This is something that I have struggled with. I've blown way too many good drives that land squarely in the middle of the fairway with an awful second shot. Fortunately, I've been improving in the last few months. Better Putting: On the courses I play, three putts should be non existent. More Lag: My distance is average, I suppose. But this will help in reducing fat shots. If I can do this, my GIR's will certainly go up. Focus: Play each shot like it really counts. I get rushed and nervous when other people are around or waiting. I need to relax and focus more. Reduce handicap: I have no doubt in my mind that I can be a mid/mid-high single digit handicapper by years end provided I play enough. This will be tough, without a doubt, but my swing has improved quite a bit as of late and I think I can achieve this. Can't wait to see some results!

Because sex is always compared to other things that men have a strong sense of loyalty to...like beer and sports...
  7. Great site! IT Consulting in New England. Trying to get my three posts so I can go on the big rides all by myself...
