  1. Bit of an easy one for me, only started up last summer and due to a few helpful tips from friends and YouTube. Oh, and just guys you bump into out and about on the course, I feel more confident and eager to learn . Golf is one of those great games where you dobt get offended when a stranger comes over and let's you know how you can improve or little hints on what theyve done to improve their game. Met some cracking people through golf already and it's a testament to the game and the type of people it attracts. Looking forward to who, what and the wheres the game is going to take me. #golfinfatuation #wifeisgonnaburnmyclubs #whosmywife
  2. Evening everyone, I play cross handed, only been playing 12 months mind but when I was a kid, few of the boys in the neighbourhood would go knock a few balls ups and down a field tucked away near the woods. I remember holding the club this way back then. Anyway didnt pick up a club for 30 years then got involved last summer. Theres a driving range not to far away so before going out with the guys around a course I spent a couple of nights at the range on my own. No one about to say i wasnt gripping correctly so carried on using this grip. Even played a few rounds with others and wasnt pulled on it. When i was eventually called up about it from another golfer, i knew no different and by then the grip had become in as comfortable as to say, the orthodox grip felt alien and awkward. Has anyone here made the grip change from cross to orthodox and any tips on making the alteration easier? Was it worth the change? And, what noticeable differences were there? Cheers everyone. Steve.
  3. Hello everyone, new member, deep in the sand again! Been playing, regularly, around 12 months, not much happening in the winter months so everything I thought id learnt the tail end of last summer has completely dissolved from my memory, feels like starting from fresh again this spring to be honest. Anyhow, I'm playing with my brother, my mate and an uncle most of the time. All much better and seasoned than myself. I'm looking for a few courses near me which I can enjoy, being at the stage I am right now with my golfing. The guys are playing much harder courses that I feel I'm ready for. I'm based in the booth west of England so if anyone has any suggestions for courses near me that I can take a lot more from at my level, or....am I being a bit of a Nancy and playing the more difficult courses should be better for me?? Also whilst I'm not at the course and being limited to a small back garden, is there any tips or things I can be doing when not at the course to improve my golfing? Any input much appreciated. Cheers, Steve.
