Yes. Less forgiveness. We high handicappers usually can't hit like lowers or pros, so our club head is usually bigger than tp,hence more forgiveness. Tp version gives you more workability. I believe lofts are same on r9 and tp. Your r9 is very good club. I almost bought your club but got callaway x24 hot. X24 hot felt little bit heavier and I did have r9 draw and wanted to try callaway. So far i love it. My friend also has your club and I use them often... I like em both, r9 just felt littlbit lighter (uniflex vs r flex?) and it was definitely easier to hit x24s long irons than r9 but what do i know, Im just a newbie. Dustin Johnson is famous for using r9 tp due to his unfortunate grounding at 18th hole @ PGA. Also Rocco Mediate was famous for using non tp version of x-20 and x-22 and this is the guy who almost beat tiger head to head back in 2008 and he was using x-22 non tp version. Hope this helps
