  1. Well they finally came out and it looks like their grind options are following the pack. Interested to hear people’s thoughts. SMS Pro Wedge The Edel Golf Swing Match System Wedge offers golf club adjustability in a wedge fitting for the first time...
  2. I agree with this 100%. I forget what tour player said it but they mentioned how in pro ams they hear amateurs say how they always make a majority of their mid range putts. His reply was no they don’t because if you did you’d be better than everyone on tour. Even pros think they’re better than they are. Back when stats weren’t as well known as today they asked a bunch of pros what the make percentage was on tour for 6 footers. The consensus was around 70%. Crenshaw was the closest with a guess of 50%. Actual percentage was 54%. I always thought it was interesting that one of the best putters was the closest.
  3. This is a good point and I’m going to go down this road. I’ll get some data on both techniques, compare the two, and then make a more informed decision. I’m bad about going off of what I “feel” is the best but should definitely approach it with more hard data. All that being said, this made me laugh and is likely the cause of me wondering if the broomstick would be a better technique. I mean, who doesn’t want to get a new putter?
  4. Does anyone have any additional information on the new Edel wedges? Based on Golf Digests review, they’re going towards what most people would consider traditional and offering low, standard and high bounce options. Reading reviews on here about their previous offerings, I was sold on the higher bounce they used in their wedges. I’m curious with their new options if they’re just going to be like all the other companies now. I guess time will tell. If I’m wrong and they’re still as good as the previous versions, I’ll definitely be making a trip to see @iacas for a fitting.
  5. I have a ridge but my favorite option is to just use a binder clip. Wrap your cash around your cards to make a little sleeve and you’re good to go. My family apparently thought I was just poor and got me a ridge as a Christmas gift so I’ll use it until it wears out.
  6. Last year I tried a broomstick putter for a few months. Lag putting felt incredibly easy and natural. Just like rolling the ball to the hole with my bottom hand. The technique also put a great end over end roll of the ball. The problem was 10 feet and in. On these shorter ones, I never felt like I was hitting the ball solidly and this caused my speed control to falter. I was leaving everything short. I wrote it off to another failed experiment and went back to my previous putter. Has anyone had a similar experience with this style? Did I give up too early? I just think back to how easy lag putting was and that’s always been something I struggled with.
  7. Since there’s still snow on the ground, I’ve been mindlessly scrolling and came across Bryson talking about his Jumbomax grips. Going down yet another equipment rabbit hole, I watched a video of him talking about how it helps him stay tight in the fingers and hands but supple in the wrists. 3.2K views · 23 reactions | Bryson Explains Why He Plays JumboMax... Bryson DeChambeau explains why he plays #jumboMaxgrips. This made me think of this thread on grip pressure. Another part I found interesting is them talking about the benefit of being able to have the club in the fingers and in the palms, agin the purpose being to remove tension in the wrists and forearms. Here’s a video of Iacas explaining the importance of having the grip in fingers and when you have the grip in the palm it severely decreases your range of motion. In theory, it seems like it would provide the ability to keep a firm grip in the fingers while decreasing tension in the unwanted areas. But, is that benefit outweighed with a decrease in your range of motion? Interested to see if anyone has tried these and what their results were.
  8. I thought this was an interesting discussion about someone asking about how lines impact aiming and LAB creator’s response. They were specifically asking about an Edel fitting. I don’t know what he was expecting posting this in a LAB forum. Why would you want to have to “work” on your aiming or overcome an aiming issue? I go to the eye doctor every year and they’ve said for the past 10 years your eyesight hasn’t changed. Am I missing something when he says it “changes all the time”? I did an Edel fitting and went from aiming a foot right to spot on. I don’t use a line on the ball any longer and can just step up and putt knowing where I’m looking and where I’m aiming match. It changed my whole perspective on putters. I’d be fearful now of buying a putter just based off what I think looks good because I’d always be worried if I’m aiming where I’m looking.
  9. Thoughts on this acquisition? 5.9K views · 55 reactions | 🚨MAJOR ANNOUNCEMENT🚨 We are proud to... 🚨MAJOR ANNOUNCEMENT🚨 We are proud to announce the acquisition of Edel Golf, a renowned company... I’ve always been a big fan of Edel and never really liked Pins and Aces. It seems like a brand created by frat bros from what I’ve seen. I reached out to them last week asking if they’d were going to be coming out with new wedges soon since I’m in the market and they responded that they’ll be coming out in February. I wonder how this will impact Edel in the long run.
  10. It seems like a TON of people are jumping on the LAB putter bandwagon (pros included). Can someone explain in layman’s term the difference between their lie angle balanced tech vs Edel’s torque balanced tech? From the people I’ve talked to that have tried LAB, they either love them or hate them. I’ll be sticking with my counter balanced Edel because I can’t aim anything else anywhere close to square but am just curious.
  11. What apps does everyone use with their Apple Watch? I’m mainly looking just for distance to the front, middle and back and greens. I also wouldn’t mind having a hole layout function but that’s not a necessity. I’d preferably like to find a free option since all I’m looking for is the simple distances but would be willing to pay a subscription if I find the right one.
  12. But if you had to pick just one you’d go with the originals?
  13. What is the benefit of the zero drop shoes?
  14. The only features I really look for in a golf shoe is that they’re extremely comfortable and they have to be waterproof. I’ve been looking at the ASICS Kayano Ace since that’s the running shoe I wear and I absolutely love them but I’m also intrigued with True Linkswear. Their website lists the following models as waterproof: Lux Hybrid Original 1.2 FS-Tour Lux G Lux Tour OG Tour I like the look of the Lux Hybrid and Originals the best but would be interested in everyone’s input and recommendations.
  15. I’m guessing it is caused primarily by a poor pivot as I’ve had that issue in the past. Any drills or feels to help with this? I was thinking about trying the towel drill under both arms.
