  2. 2 Q's for you Q1. i've heard you should use the same ball all the time, which kinda makes sense, however i play to a 28 handicap would it make much of a difference? Q2. also my single handicapper friend gives me balls he wont use, usually 'cos if ever i get free ones (days out!) i give them to him, he recently gave me a bag of the below, could you let me have your opinions on them: Srixon AD333 x 1 Distance x 3 Z-Star x x 1 Softfeel x 1 Z-UR-S x 1 Titleist Pro v1 x 4 (but my mate gets those back) Dunlop DDH x 1 Tour x 1 DDH II x 1 Double Ti x 1 Steelcore x 1 TaylorMade Penta Td x 1 TP RED LDP x 1 Molitar 422 x 3 Pinnacle Gold x 4 Gold Distance x 2 Platinum x 1 Exception x 1 Gold Lady x 1 TopFlight XL High Trajectory x 4 SD Balata x 1 Titanium x 2 XL 2000 High Trajectory x 2 X2 Regular Trajectory XL 5000 Long XL Titanium T x 1 Titanium x 1 Tour 7 Balata x 1 XL Distance x 1 PLus another 10-15 of randoms (nike, wilson, maxfli, wilson staff, inesis etc) so what should i use, what should i whack down the driving range thanks in advance, A
  3. i have been struggling with this since my last post, yet i tried this this evening at the driving range and i was striking it really well! just need to transfer this to the course and not just the range! thanks
  4. not read many above, but i got 106 today my lowest over 18 EVER woohoo get me thank you that is all :)
  5. am i right in thinking that the two clubs above should hit them about the same distance and i should remove one from my bag, and thus be able to carry another club i might need (maybe an extra wedge) (i think right forum if not please move please)
  6. i too do this, and would love for some more answers so i can try and get it out of my system
  7. i agree 100%, but i am only playing 18 months so many out there will think" what do i know" the only thing i may allow for the is psychological lift someone gets from a new club(s), that could help a lot too. however sports shops and sports equipment manufacturers will try and make you think different.
  8. i inherited my dads clubs about 12 months ago and am steadily reducing my handicap (well slowly getting to 100!) and from reading plenty of blogs and forums it seems i could do with getting a couple of clubs the 2 mentioned above i don't use a driver as a low handicapper i wrk with suggested i don't use one yet, which i am happy to do as i can hit my 3 wood about 200 yrds i can't hit my 3, 4, or 5 wood, so t would seem a 24 degree hybrid would be the answer my pitching wedge is about a 45 degree and sand wedge circa 55, so again from reading forums i should be getting a gap wedge of about 50 degrees? maybe even a lob wedge at 60 degrees? so in all of your expert opinions which should i get first, i can't really afford both quite yet Thanks in advance all
  9. hiya, just joined and posted my first post (thanks for the replies so far), and looking at my replies and looking at other posts, i got to thinking..... with many posts by many people; do you, with lower handicaps listen (or read) those posts with advice from those with higher handicaps? i.e. if you play off of 4ish, and you ask a question and someone who plays off 15ish, do you read it and pay it any respect, or do you jst read lower handicaps? what about 15 'ers respecting 20+ 'ers? curious is all, maybe i should start a poll
  10. i quite like the 4 iron, like it from 'first cut' rough, but can't hit it far, probably about the same distance.....
  11. only started playing in March of this year after having lessons when i was 15 nearly 20 years ago now, but found a new love for it finally :o) i remember a lot of what i was taught however one thing which is confusing me at the moment (i went to the range this morning) is that i hit my 7 iron (when connecting well) about 150 yards, my 5 iron 150 yards, and surprise surprise my 5 wood 150 yards! however my hybrid off the tee went about 170/180 maybe i am comfortable on my irons and quite like the even numbers especially my 8 iron, i don't even try and use a driver let a lone the over sized Drivers about these days, so after all these ramblings my question is, how can i get more distance off my woods and lower irons? i understand about playing the course and it would have to be a particularly long par 4 or 5 that i couldn't be on the green after 3 shots just using my 7 iron, but it would be nice to get some sort of distance.... i hope i have made my question clear, however please ask for clarity if you are unsure
  12. i only played 9, as my 2 supposed partners cried off, so was on my own and subsequently delayed! i got 55 (34 par) but i should have been closer to 50 has i not hit 3 trees! same one twice
  13. not astounding by any means, but the first time i have parred the 2nd hole Par 3, with people waiting either side of the hole :)
