906 are pretty tough to hit perfectly.....had 904 in my bag for about a year and thought about upgrading to the 906 but didn't see much difference....it's great for a low boring trajectory but very little forgiveness...the callaway x tour is probably a lot better.....I have been thrilled with both the cleveland launcher series and taylormade burner fairway wood....launchers are a killer buy right now....(never was a fan of cleveland golf until recently)...good luck

Let's look at the original quote that started it all...."the R7 TPs has too much game improvement for my abilities as a bogey golfer that hits the MP32s pure 3x/year that I play.... How can the MP60s be too much club for you Mr Pure striker of the MP32s (which is the tougher one to hit of the two if you know the hx behind those that came after the MP32s as a response to the critics saying the MP32s were too hard to hit) I could care less what you play, but I just hate when people overestimate their abilities and find the lamest excuses to justifiy their present state of their game....it's really nothing personal...
-
you really have no clue about your game if you think short game is that tough that you suddenly choke on about 1/2 the holes you play and average double bogey on those holes although you seem to hit even par on the rest....once again I am tired of all the people bullshitting about their true abilities and giving advice on things that mislead others.....I agree with you that Mizuno are the best "feeling" irons out there...but the MP 32s/MP60s are not meant for mid/high handicap (yes that's you mr. bogey golfer).....you can look on the golfsmith website which clearly shows the handicap range for those clubs...(pls stop telling me that you are the exception...heard it before and it's people like you that lead to these 6 hour rounds on the weekeds....you probably play from the tips also right...mr 280 yard driver that now admits can't hit any fairway woods let alson 3 or 4 irons....your story is getting worse and worse...buddy you should stop talking about things that are not statistically possible....
-
I know the truth really hurts...but u need to get fitted for your clubs....keep playing with those blades and I am sure your handicap will drop down in no time....r u crazy???? when I told this to my golf instructor he couldn't stop laughing and saying that's what keeps me in business.....certainly understand using blades for 0-10 handi but outside of that you have to be exceptional....2/3 of tour pros use cavity backs but you as a 18 handi with short game issues thinks those are the right clubs is preponderous....
-
As always....it's the guy at the range hitting the wrong clubs thinking he's much better than he is......if you think MP32s are good for u...u have no idea how bad your "short game" is ....there is no way you are hitting 8 GIR and not breaking 80 unless you are playing on a executive par 3 course....for you to have developed a consistent swing and to say that your short game is behind is BS.......6-7 pars per round means double -triple bogey the other remaining holes....cmon...MP32s and hitting 8 GIR and still bogey golfer (which means you actually score mid 90s typicaly) there is no way.....it gives no credibility to what you are saying...
-
If you are a bogey golfer all the clubs listed above should not be used by you ....and please don't tell me you bomb your drives 300 and hit your 7 iron 175 either....I know what a bogey golfer's game is like and all the clubs your just rated are about in your distant future.....
-
no brainer for me ......R7 TPs best irons for low-mid handi.......very easy to hit...workable....pretty good feel for cast club........have used Mizuno MP32 and Titleist 735 CM previously and the R7s are sooooo much better...the little you give up on "feel" is well worth the amount you pick up on forgiveness....

Your experience going from blade to cavity back irons
shinujk1 replied to tigerwoo's topic in Clubs, Grips, Shafts, Fitting
My journey goes from Callaway Big Bertha to TM RAC OS2 to Mizuno MP32 to Titleist 735CM to Mizuno MX25 to TM R7 TPs....you need to find a set of cavity backs with minimal offset....ie MP 60s, Titleist 755, Callaway X forged or TM R7 TPs.....unless you need help getting ball up in the air you really should stay away from game improvement clubs.... -
13 vs 15 Degree Fairway Wood???
shinujk1 replied to shinujk1's topic in Clubs, Grips, Shafts, Fitting
I generally always hit driver off the tee b/c seem the most comfortable with it.......i will be using the 3 woood primarily off the deck and less often from the tee box... -
Call me traditional but I still can't get used to hitting 3 hybrid or 7 wood....have tried in past but don't seem to be much better....I will probably try a 7 wood prior to using 3 hybrid again.....what are the majority of u guys using....particularly interested in hearing from 5-15 handicaps....
-
Just wanted to hear from those who have used 13 degree fwy woods and what their experience was hitting off the turf??? significant distance difference?? much harder to hit??

Titleist 775CB irons - to buy or not to buy?
shinujk1 replied to ckelly06's topic in Clubs, Grips, Shafts, Fitting
kind of depends how well u hit your irons....do u need help getting ball in the air....as the 775 have more offset and weight on bottom...I would go with the 755 which have plenty of offset and forgiving...the 775 seem more approp for bogey golfers....I have been very happy with my R7 TPs..... -
What's missing in my bag?
shinujk1 replied to WhiplashSmile's topic in Clubs, Grips, Shafts, Fitting
I vote for the 5 wood....tried about 5 diff hybrids in the past and always end up back to the 5 wood.....(TM rescue, Dual TP, Mizuno CLK, Ping G5, Callaway Heavenwood)...Not a big fan of Cleveland Golf in general but was blown away by the launcher fairway wood.... -
you gotta be kidding me....you hit it 280+ and you are also a 24 handicap....u either work for Callaway or have the worst short game ever...
-
Big fan of Titleist NXT tour or Bridgestone E6.....the other balls don't come close except for the premium $40/box balls....Nike balls in general feel tooo firm/harsh....

Cleveland Launcher Fairway Woods
shinujk1 replied to shinujk1's topic in Clubs, Grips, Shafts, Fitting
I took it out on the course and it really is soooo easy to hit straight....it really does compensate very well.......do you know if the hi-bore is much better??? thanks for the info on the composite....I like the composite driver but didn't know what the fwy woods would be like -
Just wanted to hear from people who use these in their bags....I picked a 5 wood this week and I am amazed how easy it is to hit these woods.... Debating about dumping my Titleist 904F 15 degree for another one of these....Do the Launcher Composite seem a lot better?? I have previously used Taylormade V steel and Callaway Big Bertha and clearly these are very easy to use.... I feel like I am cheating with these clubs....
-
Once again....am looking to add a hybrid to the mix....have previously used TM rescue both orig and dual TP, Ping G5, and Mizuno CLK.....demo-ed the Titleist 585H (didn't like).....am currently debating b/w cobra baffler, callaway fusion or TM burner......currently need something b/w my 3 wood and 3 iron.... I hit the previous hybird pretty well for a few months then it gets ugly very quickly so end up dropping it out.....
-
Remeber ......If money was not an issue which club would you get.....I can justify paying extra for the one I want if I keep it for a few years and helps me bring my score down.....I am leaning heavily for the 907D1 but will give others a shot....not too keen on the FT5 sound .....wish the TM superquad had a different shaft (will not be custom ordering)
-
R7 Superquad vs Titleist 907 vs Callaway FT5 vs Nike SUMO I am looking to upgrade from the Titleist 905T that I have been using for the past two years....finally ready to use a 460cc club....which would you buy if money was not a factor???
-
love these clubs....used to play Titleist 735cm and Mizuno MP32....these are the best b/c best overall.....good feel, looks great at address, feel like you are cheating b/c very forgiving for a player's club.....
-
just bothers me to see the "hoofer" concept on the ping bags....looks too weird for me.....i walk most of the time so I really value it being very light with a good stand mechanism.....the legs on my previous titleist bag wore out after 1 year....
-
Philfest..... you gotta keep the R7s .... I just love these the more I hit them..... I understand why I people like the MP60s b/c of its pure butter like feeling but you just don't get punished for any mishits with the TM R7s...my dispersion pattern right now is so tight it's crazy....this comes from a guy that used the Mizuno MP32, Titleist 735cm and most recently MX-25 in the past ....the r7s are the 1st set of cast irons I have used in a long time and I don't miss the forged irons feel with these clubs....

Should I change anything?
shinujk1 replied to Cleveland Gunmetal's topic in Clubs, Grips, Shafts, Fitting
I have had this dilemna also.... It really depends if you are a long hitter or not....ie do you tend to need to hit lots of long shots on your approach shots...if so I would stick with either a 5 wood, hybrid 20 or 3 irons depending on your preference and eliminate the lob wedge....I generally use my lob on chip shots around the green but rarely for full approach shots....
