  1. I would definitely recommend getting a professional club fitting done. It can be done at most golf shops. While based on your height, it is easy to say the should be a little shorter, but by how much and with what lie change is the question. They will tell you exactly the length, flex and lie that your clubs should be. Then you can either have your clubs adjusted or buy new ones with a correct fit. Depending on the shaft and flex you currently have, it might not be as simple as cutting the shaft length down, they may have to be reshafted... but the club fitter can tell you your options. Good luck.
  2. Laxplayer- you say you can hit your 3&5 woods great, but not your hybrids. This tells me you are trying to swing your hybrid like a fairway wood (just a guess). The key to hitting a good hybrid is swinging it just like your irons... a descending blow, trying to take a divot vs trying to pick it clean off the fairway.
  3. The local club in my town uses caddies exclusively. I am not a member, but play there 3-4 times a year with friends. I love to walk, I feel it is better mentally for me, but I am not a big fan of having a caddie. Mostly because, in my experience, they have been useless... wrong yardage, bad reads. No pride in the service they offer. (that being said, every once in a while you will get a good caddy, with good course advice, which can save a lot of strokes, but that is rare)........... I would prefer a course to provide those electric pull carts with remote.
  4. "If something is too good to be true, then it probably is".... that being said, I own a clone golf club website. We are very upfront with who we are and what we are selling.."a comparable version of the name brand". Our goal is to sell a high quality club at an affordable price. Our target is for the customer that can't afford the price of the name brand. The key to buying anything online is to do your homework and research the company: - If on Ebay, what is there feedback and how much are they selling (feedback less then 98% is a sure problem) - Check there return policy and warranty of the product - Are they a member of the Better Business Bureau, even if they are not, go to bbb.org site and check them out. It is simple and free and can save you a big headache.
  5. I usually have a fresh sleeve for every round. Best is when I use only two, mostly change mid round due to the condition of the first. Occasionally go to the third for the errant wet ball. If I have to pull another sleeve, look out, it is not a good day.
  6. Your putter is a very personal thing. Price is really not, or shouldn't be a consideration. That being said, quality of the club is important, although you can find a quality clubs for as little as $30. The most important thing is how it feels in your hands and your comfort putting with it. Putting is a very mental game. When you look at your putter, you need to have confidence in your club that you can make the putt. Once you lose that confidence you might as well pull that putter from you bag and find a new one.
  7. Just as note, I bought a set of clone x-18s. The look and feel just like the callaways, but I saved about $500. you may want to take a look; http://www.tour••••••••••••••
  8. I have Grand Hawk XP-10s from http://www.tourgolflcubs.com They are a clone of the 2006 Callaway Big Berthas. Cost me $129 vs $699. Save over $500 and I can't be happier with the clubs.
  9. I use a turner emergency hybrid. This is a clone of the taylormade. I paid a quarter of what the taylormade cost. I have hit both clubs and can't tell the difference. I highly recommend it . I got them on http://www.tour••••••••••••••
  10. There is always something new around the corner, if it is not grooves, it will be shaft or club head design. Play for today - get new clubs. If you are still concerned because of cost, check out http://www.tour•••••••••••••• - they have great clubs at a fraction of the name brand price
