I am a release manager in an IT department. Not a bad job but I do wish I could go full-time with my photography and creative work instead.

Have you read the book called "Dream On" by John Richardson - well worth a read, and although what he attempted in a year is unattainable for the rest of us it does give some motivation as to what we can do if we put our mind to it. I would say just aim for some consistency with your golf should be your first goal. -
In the Living room with a cup, a few balls and a putter! In the back garden I use a bucket and practise chipping into that.
