  1. What gram shaft do you use? In what flex? What brand shaft? What is your driver swing speed?
  2. Right pocket: 1 tee and my ball marker Left pocket: glove when putting *I dont like to have much in my pockets...I dont like when they buldge
  3. right now leaning with the mp60's with the rifle flighted shafts...either 6 or 6.5
  4. what did you end up deciding?
  5. Has anybody hit this shaft? I have been demo-ing the new Nike Sumo with the Proto stiff shaft. I really like it, but am thinking of ordering the 75 or 85 gram shaft. I whip the 65g around like it is a wet noodle. (110mph driver speed) I am trying to decide whether to order the the 85 or 75 in stiff, or maybe jump to the X-stiff. My only concern with the X is that I will lower my launch angle too much... Any thoughts?
  6. A little update: I have been struggling trying to decide what irons to buy...My situation is the same...I am shooting high 80's, but just joined a club with an amazing practice facility. So, I should really be able to improve my game going forward. I am hitting some older MP-33's, and I am getting better with them...my main issue is my DRIVING. I am not wanting to buy a improvement iron (like the G5) and wish I had another set in a few months... I think I can handle the MP-60's, seeing I am decent with the 33's right now... Feedack on those thoughts? Also, I will be ordering these irons through a freind who is a baseball rep with Mizuno, so I will need to give him all my measurables. What shafts should I go with? I swing the 6 iron 90-95mph and the driver 105-115mph. I am hearing good things about the Rifle flighted or project x's. would I be a 6.0 or a 6.5? Thanks for any insight...
  7. any others have any experience with either the Rifle Project X shaft or the Flighted Rifle shaft?
  8. thanks for the link
  9. I am leaning towards Mizuno's for my next set. I am currently playing a friends old set of MP-33's. I am not good enough to hit them consistent every shot, but still manage to shoot around 90. My main issue is driving though, so I am wondering if the MP-60's will offer me a little more forgiveness? I really enjoy the setup, look, and feel of the Mizuno's. I once was around a 10 index, and I am wanting to work back down...can I handle the 60's?
  10. Ok...I am about to order a set of Mizuno MP-60's and I am leaning very heavily towards upgrading the shafts to the Rifle Project X shaft. I am needing a little feedback on how the Rifle shafts are measured. I am right in between a stiff and x-stiff in the Dynamic Golf shaft, so by default, I have been playing the stiff. I hit my 6 iron around 180-190. I have a high swing speed. (Driver-110mph) I am thinking I would need either the 6.0 or the 6.5...any insights?A Also, and feedback on the Project X shafts?
  11. So...I had got with a club fitter today and hit some ping g5's. I had a lesson prior to this fitting, and hit my old MP-33's during the lesson. Once I started hitting the pings, they felt so bulky and clunky. I really think I want to stick with Mizuno's even if I have to work out some things in my swing. I think that the MP-60's may give me the benefits of the blade-like irons, with a little forgiveness thrown in there. Any thoughts on that? (I am planning on hitting the Mizuno's in the coming week) And with finding the right set of irons, I REALLY want to get the right shafts! I am 6'4 and swing hard. I am trying to tone my swing down and get more tempo and make it more smooth. I guess I am looking at the Dynamic Gold s300, s400, and then the rifle shafts. (flighted..i guess?) Any advice on the shaft selection would be great...
  12. What shafts do you guys have in your Mizuno irons? And what is your swingspeed?
  13. I was wanting some feedback on what club most of you chip with around the green. I know this will vary depending on a number of circumstances. Ex- what club do you grab when you are on the fringe with a chip between 10-20 yards? -I have the vokey wedges (52, 56, 60 degree). I am struggling with consistency in this shot....I switch from the 56 to the 60 depending on how I am hitting each.
  14. Where do you get custom fit by mizuno? Or are you referrirng to a pro shop who carries the mizuno line?
  15. thanks guys...that is what I was leaning towards...the sweetest feeling is hitting the MP-33 on the sweet spot...it is like you dont even feel the ball! but when you mis-hit it, your hands fall off, and your shot balloons to the rough.
  16. I am looking at the Mizuno line of irons. Can someone give me the run-down of the Mizuno irons...thanks
  17. I am wanting to get some input of Mizuno irons. I have a old set from a buddy...about 10 year old set of MP-33's. They are in rough shape, so I am looking for a new set. I still struggle to hit the MP-33's consistently...but I am coming around...about a 14-16 handicap. I have read alot of good things about the MP-60's and the new MP-67's. So, if you were getting a new set, and you were about to really start working on your golf game...what Mizuno iron set would you purchase?
  18. You can never go wrong with a set of Pings!
  19. I decided to hold off on trying to guess myself, or take one salesmen's advice. I have a scheduled fitting at Sea Island Golf Learning Center this weekend. They won Ping's 2002 "Custon Club Fitter" of the year award. I figure they will help my fine-tune my shaft decsision. I will probably also swing a few other clubs to really narrow down which ones are the best for me. I can sure see how custon clubs will improve your game, especially if you are not a normal size person (I am 6'4, and have a fast swing), but it sure does make you 2nd guess yourself with all the options that are available now-a-days! Thanks for all the great input...and keep it coming... I will let everyone know how the fitting goes this weekend.
  20. any other feedback on the shafts? thanks...
  21. thanks leo...I will give the I5 a try!
  22. I have not hit with any DG shafts, except for the ones in my Vokey Wedges. The G5's I demo'ed had the CS-light ping shafts in them. I am somewhat of a newbie in terms of gold technology, but what I have been reading is that faster, harder swingers need heavier shafts, so that is why I thougt about going with something like the DG stiff. From my internet reading, I am guessing that lighter shafts help get the ball in the air...I get the ball up pretty easy, nice high ball flight. The CS-lite ping stiff shaft is like 107g where the DG stiff (s-300) is like 130g. Ant insight into the weight of the shafts?
  23. I have the ProForce V2 stiff in both my driver and 3 wood. It is one of the lowest torque shafts out there, so it is a stiffer stiff shaft. I too swing about 108-112mph with the driver.
  24. I love my 3 Vokey wedges!
  25. I just bought the Titleist 905R. We'll see how it goes...
