  1. Guys, We just came back from our annual Myrtle Trip and the weather couldnt have been any better, but some of the courses were in terrible shape. Here is the list: 1) Barefoot -Fazio ( Nice layout, horrible conditions) 2) Barefoot -Love (Another great layout, but did not like the conditions) 3) Barefoot -Norman ( Greg Norman should stick to wine making...boring layout) 4) Tidewater (Great track with a lot of character and the best par 3, the 12th hole was awesome!) 5) Pearl West ( Not a bad track in pretty good condition ) 6) Glen Dornoch ( THE BEST COURSE we played, what a GREAT Track, with great conditions and the best greens!) 7) Heather Glen ( Another great track with a great finishing hole, the greens were great!) 8) River Hills ( Good track, with some tough holes. Green were not great, but good character) The bottom line is that the courses are hurting down there and the Barefoot courses are WAY, WAY Overpriced! Heather Glen and Glen Dornoch are the best two courses we played...
  2. The problem with Hilton Head is that the best courses like "sesession" are private. I played Burkley Hall which is also private...other tha hilton head national im not sure...
  3. Sure will if I play. They want $165.00 for a round and $94.00 for twilight rate. Here's the killer, Twilight changes to 3pm starting this Sunday...when I arrive!
  4. Anyone ever play the courses inside Dsiney? They are pricey, but was wondering which is the best?
  5. Just played Old Barnstable yesterday and shot an 80! I think it's way too overpriced for this time of year, $58.00 with a cart or $40 to walk. I wont go back, but will try Hyannis Golf Club his week. Remember, the cape usually gets rain when we get snow
  6. http://www.onpargps.com/ Well, I just ordered one. Being in IT, I love gadgets, but I know better never to buy the first version of anything new, but couldnt help myself here... My plan is to sell my SG5 which still has a subscription until Sept. on ebay if the ONPAR is all it's supposed to be. I will be playing in Myrtle Beach in two weeks and will post a review on this thread.
  7. I just started using my new Igolf caddie II and love it so far, but I was wondering if you guys know how to figure layups to fairway bunkers, water etc...? My friend's skycaddie will show hip layup yardage with a cool looking picture of the bunker or water lay up. It even shows how much to a 90 yard layup one one of the par 5's on my home course.. Can someone please explain step by step procedures on how to get this infor out of the Caddie II? Can it eve be done? THANKS!
  8. WELL SAID! If you're not a single digit, below 6, you have no business playing blades...it's just an ego thing. Most of the guys I see play blades shouldn't...
  9. So did I read that correctly, a 13 handicap is thinking about going to Q-school???? LOL!!! Sorry, that's just too funny!
  10. I use the Project X 5.0 in my callaway X-20 tours. At first I was wondering if they were going to be too whippy, but after speaking to Callaway directy,I was told 5.0 are like regualr flex. Anyway, I love the shafts and iron now!
  11. I was wondering if anyone has ever been to one of these? $375.00 is kind of steep, but... http://www.pelzgolf.com/pelzgolf.aspx
  12. If so, how do you like it? Pros and Cons...
  13. I've used an interlocking grip for putting ever since I started playing and was wondering if anyone else does? I'm think about going to the overlap...any thoughts?
  14. Okay, it's been happening a lot more than I'd like when I'm around the greens in heavy rough and I'm trying to play a flop shot with my 60 degree wedge... Actually, it's happened even when I'm not trying to play a flop shot, just a chip. I think it's because I'm not breaking my wrists when I take the club back. I've been using more of a putting stroke with no wrist cock and I think it might be why, but was wondering if anyone has any insight\suggestions...thanks!
  15. Why are so many people suggesting a driver?!??!?! You should not be hitting DRIVER at ALL! If you just started, you should not be playing courses that have 440 yd par 4's...ETC. You should be playing executive courses or even par 3 courses. I'm 36 years old and a 7.8, and started playing when I was 23, and if I had to do it all over again, I would have started from the GREEN back.
  16. I would invest in lessons first by doing a google search for the best reviewed teaching pros in your area. I would also NOT play pro v's unless you don't mind throwing money away. Like you mentioned, when you begin you can not tell the diffeence between a PROV & Pinnacle. As for clubs, I would invest in hybrids. You shouldn't be hitting anything higher than a 6 iron right now. Good luck!
  17. Heading down to Naples the first week of Jan and my wife and I are staying at the Leyly Flamingo & Mustang. I played the Flamingo and really liked it, but not a big fan of the Mustang. So far, I have a round booked at the Flamingo and Naples Beach Hotel and Golf Club. The pro their told me I have to go out and play "Old Cork Screw" He said it will be private soon... http://www.oldcorkscrew.com Any other courses I should play? My wife does not play golf so I'm looking at playing early in the morning if possible. So far.. Flamingo Old Cork Screw Not really sure about Naples Beach Hotel and Golf Club? Anyone play here?
  18. I always carry power bars, Advil & Tums. You don't want to be stuck out there for 5 hours with a pounding headache and or heartburn..
  19. I've decided it's time to walk more! My current TM stand bag is too heavy and my club has the Mizuno duralite II for $99.00. Anyone own one of these? Any other good LIGHT stand bags?
  20. Im a digger, so I've never had a problem with my ball stopping on the green. I've been playing the Prov since it came out and recently thought about switching to the PROV1X for that added distance and I was wondering if anyone else has switched and what are your thoughts...My driver swing speed is 95-99mph. Please don't post telling me how the "srixon" or top flight is a better ball and I'm wasting my money..blah blah blah.. My opinion: There is the the PROV and then every other ball...
  21. I GAURANTEE the first time you hit the wrong ball or someone else hits your ball, you will start marking your balls...
  22. It depends if you're looking for more workability or forgiveness? I was playing the X-18, but I couldn't play a fade to save my life because of the off-set in the x-18's. If you're a 7, I'm sure you won't notice a big difference in the forgiveness... Being a lefty and ex-hockey player, I've always had a strong grip and never had a problem leaving my ball out to the left, but I hate the right side... Like Trevino said, "You can talk to a fade, but a hook won't listen..."
  23. I play the callaway x20 tour and these are by FAR the best irons I've ever owned! The feel is amazing for not being a forged club... I shot an 83 at my home course after only playing with these clubs one other time. The course and slope at my course are 72.9 & 139 slope...
