  1. First off, let me say that i am new to golf. I started about 2 months back and started playing with my grandfather who has been playing for 35+ years. I never picked up a club until recently. I have been trying to play at least once a week and i have seen an improvement until recently. I mostly played at a par 3, mostly because its free during the fall/winter. Most holes are btween 100-150 yards. So i never get past the six iron. It seems as though i have gotten a feel for these shorter clubs, but i played a few rounds on a regulation course and anything above the 6 iron is so unpredictable. I dont dare touch the driver anymore, id rather just throw the balls away then use it. Unforutnately as a broke 22 y/o, i dont have the access to a club prop or lessons so youtube, this site, and ben hogans book are as close to instruction as i am going to get. Any tips on how to adjust to these longer clubs? Anyone shorten there shafts? Is the different lengths really necessary? Also, the shaft on my driver seems super flexible. The clubs were owned by my 65y/o grandfather so im sure these were changed out to a "senior" shaft. Im guessing a regular steel shaft is something i should look into? Thanks Guys! All insight is greatly appreciated
  2. would you reccomend a hybrid to a beginner? The remind of me of shrunked woods! lol When you say custom fitting does that mean finding the appropriate the length of the shaft a lie of the club face?
  3. Hey Guys! Just wanted a little insight from you. I just started playing golf within the last 2 months, and im hooked. I have been playing twice a week and am really enjoying it. My grandfather gave me a rare set of Guerin Rife Irons that i have been using, but i found out that there pretty rare and am wanting to put them away til i can sell them or just hold onto them, i havent decided. I went to my local golf store to look at clubs but there were very intense and were reccomending clubs sets that were like a grand and using all kinds of terminology that i didnt know i think on purpose to show how much more they knew than me. So i was hoping you guys could reccomend a few sets that i can go and look at without succumbing to pressure from the sales people. I would like to get a decent set that i can use for a while! I have about 500-600 to spend. I already have a adams driver and woods that i am happy with at the moment
  4. Are they rare? I was considering trading them for a different set if someone appreciated there value more than me
  5. Hey everyone, I just started playing golf recently and my grandfather gave a set of clubs. They are guerin rife irons and say muscle cavity on them. I have searched everywhere and cant find any information on them or even where to order them. I know that Rife makes putters but i never heard of his irons before. I did find one place that says they were a prototype set but never went to market. Any info would be great!
