  1. I just purchased an iZ for $200 bucks. I haven't played with it yet but I love the way it feels and it seems to have significantly reduced my fade/slice. My test drives were a little shorter than my best but I'll take straight over long and ob any day! I'll post again after playing a round.
  2. Fred Couples would be my choice. He just seems so smooth out there.
  3. I agree. I have had my fill of ol' Danni Girl! I tried to watch the "Danni Special" with no luck...she is more annoying than these repeated threads about how annoying she is! Off topic: I watched the final match of Big Break II (missed it before). It was much more exciting than the BBIII match from a strictly golf perspective. I remember not liking Double-D but after watching the finale you could really see how much it meant to him. What really surprised me was that the in-studio "extra" prize (1 exemption, I think) went to Bart! They really should have given that to Double-D....similar reaction to the BBIII finale when Pam appeared to get absolutely nothing. That show has some strange prize policies.
  4. I just started playing a couple of years ago when I was 49. I just recently broke 100 for the first time so I'm making some progress. I took lessons about 8 years ago but never played because I thought everybody was better than I....wrong! I've seen just as many bad golfers as good and quite a few very bad golfers and very good ones. It doesn't matter. I've decided to just get out there, learn something, enjoy the weather and excercise and figure out how to beat the course. I tend to be very competitive and golf has slowly taught me patience to go along with my competitive juices. I think you have to learn the game, learn to execute and learn to think on the course before you can be really good. I'm still learning all three with varying degrees of sucess from round to round. It's a good thing I don't have any money though (one kid in college, one in law school) because I think I'd have several sets of clubs and every bit of gear on the market. I'm a gear-a-holic! The good news is that I've become extremely easy to buy for on Father's Day, my birthday and at Christmas...I AM HOOKED...and Loving it!
  5. Quick question -- did Pam get ANYTHING? That had to be the most awkward and cheesy end to a contest that I've ever seen. To answer the original question -- nope, don't think she'll break 80, notwithstanding the fact that her short game is "her strength" or was that her iron play or maybe it was the driver.....

    Hello

Hello Folks - This is my first post so be kind.... I'm 51 and just started playing golf about 2 years ago. I broke 100 for the first time a couple of weeks ago but that's kind of beside the point. The game is fun, its great mental and physical exercise and its even helped me to become a little closer to my sons (my oldest is 23 and just started playing this spring -- he has been hitting his 5 iron over 200 yards and hits an 8 iron 170 yards -- this seems a bit absurd to me...what do you think?) At any rate, I've enjoyed this forum so I've taken the membership plunge. Looking forward to having some fun with you folks here too! Peace (anybody seen a cherry Chrysler Crossfire around...I seem to be missing one! -- Way to Go Boob D!
