  1. You have to say Jack is the greatest UNTIL Tiger overcomes him - which I think he will before his career is over. So, at this point in time it's Jack but I highly expect Tiger to be the greatest before his career is over. Todd
  2. I was standing in the fairway on a par 4 and had about a 225 yd. shot to the green and was waiting on the group in front of us to finish putting. These jerks playing behind us had been pushing us all day even though WE were the ones waiting on every shot (i.e. not playing slow). Finally, the group behind us started teeing off and hit several shots near us in the fairway and even grunted a few "hurry ups" assuming I would never reach the green on my approach shot. Well, when the group finally left the green I hit one of the best shots of my life and landed it right smack on the green - best shot of my career From that point on we didn't get pushed by the group behind us for the rest of the day Great day and that was at least 8 years ago! Todd
  3. There are tons of guys that can hit it far but most can't find it after they DO hit it! Their length is counterproductive because they are pitching from the woods if , in fact, they do find their ball. Length is great but there has to be a balance with control. 260 straight down the middle beats 300+ in the woods every day of the week. Personally, I've learned to ignore two things until I actually play with someone: 1. How far they hit their drives 2. How low they score Both are almost always overstated and being a golfer myself I know that we all have short memories
  4. I agree - hit the range and practice your short game. In fact, if you can just drive the ball without getting in trouble and couple that with a good short game your score will go down quickly. Playing in tournaments is a good way to find out your weaknesses. Even when you think you're game is on fire you will be introduced to new threats at each tournament as soon as stress takes over Todd
  5. I'm a business consultant that travels the country. I love it! Todd
  6. It costs $45 Mon-Fri and $55 on the weekends for the lowest level courses here (resort area). Though they sprinkle the newspapers with $25 fees all the time. Plus, if you sign up for their e-mail newsletters you can typically play for less than $30. The really good courses are about $75 at any given time. Most of the courses in my area are overpriced because of the large tourist draw and the fact that they know they can get whatever price they want due to the vacationers. The best bet here is to know what newspaper circulars to watch for and that keeps the price reasonable. Todd
